As a female player, I know that male players tend to try and troll/humiliate female opponents. It involves e.g. repeating the same, usually punishable moves or even trying a 10-string. The best thing to overcome it is not to give a damn and make a good use of the openings they make. ^^

See, this would be enough to put me off. I've had friends do it to me, and I just took it on the chin, but I'd be quite frustrated if I were fighting in a tournament and they did that. Then again, the feeling when my Yoshi scrubbed their smug little face in the dirt, would make it all worth while. But alas, My Yoshi can't keep his own face out the dirt long enough for that... 
 

I've actually met Aris in person.  Despite all of the negative press he received for saying all of those inappropriate things, he was actually a nice guy!  He even let me sit in on one of his streams on TwitchTV.  I took a stab at playing in the Tekken tournament they were hosting and, of course, I did terribly.  But it was fun!
