Music Thread - What Are You Listening To??

I was surprised that no one has started this thread before. We have a thread for weird un-cool music so how about we also share the songs we do like? I mean, everyone has times when certain songs get stuck on repeat :wink -don't they??? Well I do so I'll start with the songs that fill my otherwise silent evenings at the moment...

I should point out that these aren't my usual music tastes, but each song reminds me of a particular point in my past that just brings out the right 'feelings' at the moment.

First one... lights off, candles flickering in the dark while I sit at my bedroom window... this is the song that I listen to...

If I am not done depressing myself to the brink of death, then I've been listening to this a lot this week (heard it on the radio and that was it...)

Can't have only sad songs or trust me, I really would lose my mind, so I've also listened tp this now and then, to keep my optimism levels topped up...

so how about you?? What can't you stop listening to right now? Please post, cheer us all up :D

(and yes Gattsu, you can add these songs to the CD you're gonna make for me... write them down before I forget :p)

one best the best instrumental songs i everheard. it has a nice dark aura

Ooooooh.. moodiness... :P

I missed an important one... this song has played in my head whenever I am having 'one of those days' ever since it featured in my Yoshi story...

and just because I know people have better ways to spend their time than reading my story so won't have a clue what I am talking about... here's a copy/paste... just because I am THAT nice...

Some Tea Party:
Yoshi did not respond but just stood completely still, the only movement being his very slow breathing.
I decided to do something radical, something I often do when I run out of argument. I started to sing the first song that came into my head. Luckily, I'm not too dreadful a singer. I can hold a tune at least.
'Where is the moment we needed the most? You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost...'
Yoshi just stood there letting me sing. His eyes didn't seem such a harsh shade of red so maybe music really can soothe a savage beast!
'Oh, Daniel Powter?' enquired the doctor saving me from the embarrassment of reaching the part where I run out of lyrics.
'The singer of that song, it's Daniel Powter isn't it?'
'What? Nah, don't be silly. It's Alvin and Chipmunks!' I said incredulously. Man, it's a good job I'm around to keep everyone right really.

don´t say stuff like that people likes your story, you won best fanfic :yes
be proud of your great work

At the moment, I've been listening to alot of Evanescence - Amy Lee inspires me for singing, and I hope to be able to have a strong voice like her (and Celtic Women), which might take forever because I have a very soft voice, and it hurts to raise my voice most of the time. :p

Anyhow, I'm currently listening to Surrender by Evanescence... beautiful song. :love (I'd have to say this song would probably explain how I'd love somebody in a relationship - I don't know if that's a good or bad thing though. :blush)

Is this real enough for you
You were so confused
Now that you've decided to stay
We'll remain together
You can't abandon me
You belong to me

Breathe in and take my life in you
No longer myself, only you
There's no escaping me my love

Darling, theres no sense in running
You know I will find you
Everything is perfect now
We can live forever
You can't abandon me
You belong to me

Breathe in and take my life in you
No longer myself, only you
There's no escaping me my love

Breathe in and take my life in you
No longer myself only you
There's no escaping me my love

Amy Lee is amazing!!! Her voice is very angelic, yet strong and filled with emotion. I love most of their music also. Although the love described in that lyric would kinda scare me if it was a literal translation.

I love Bowie. X - This song is sad, I dunno if it's true or drug induced.

I always laugh at this part. --> "A cop knelt and kissed the feet of a priest
and a queer threw up at the sight of that" Haha!

Wow, Jem. Dind´t know u like the song colorblind. I love that song as well, thanks for the reminder.

Could you please write artist and songname instead of just posting links, cause the vids won´t last 4ever and then noone can follow the whole thread.

Well, there are tons of "all time favorites" (guess this is what it´s about). Of Placebo, En Vogue etc etc.

Well I pick those ones, maybe some of u have that "Ahh right! THAT song...pretty cool"-effect as well ;)

Luniz - I got 5 on it

Bran Van 3000 - Drinkin in L.A.

Nice thread :)

Dream Theater - Hollow Years Live At Budokan damn great song

Metallica - dyers eye

Yes - changes

Thin Lizzy - Dedication

The Business - Drinking and driving. One thing I DO know is that drinking and cycling / roller blading is fun! HAHAHAHA XD

Korobeiniki - Tetris!

Chico Buarque - Funeral de um lavrador (Funeral of a farmer) A very sad song and not everyone's cup of tea. It's been my top 10 favorite songs for about 4 years. I like how the song stirs my emotions in a hypnotic way with its slow beat, weary tune and the build up towards the end.

Los Tres Sudamericanos ?El Funeral del Labrador?
Alternate version of the song in spanish.. Lyrics somewhat changed in some parts and different to the one above... Still every strange tune.

edit: 9.10.09

Richard Marx-Right Here Waiting For you.
I cried my eyes out to this song. Whoever you are with and LOVE, adore them, appreciate them NOW without a doubt. Kiss and hold them passionately. We live only once. X

Well I guess I should update. I'm not listening to much right now and my music tastes are a little mixed up. Things play on the radio that I would never usually enjoy and I find myself humming along. It's quite unnerving actually!!

Today I am listening to the Killers. I think Human is my favourite song hope you like it too.

Or maybe Mr.Brightside is my favourite?? It's a tough choice...

Im listening to the Snatch's Movie Soundtrack as Im going to use some of its Music for upcoming YouTube Videos. If you havent seen this film, then youre missing out on possibly one of the greatest "English Gangter" flicks ever!!

Four notable songs to listen to are:

Diamonds - Klint (Opening Song)
F**kin' in the Bushes - Oasis (Heard when the Last Fight Scene starts)
SuperMoves - Overseer
Disco Science - Marwais (Heard when Brick Top's Thugs are chasing Tyrone down.... good stuff)

Also, I highly recommend looking up March of the SwivelHeads by The English Beat. Remember the scene in Ferris Beuler's Day Off when he is running home to beat his Parents to the punch?? Yup, that song is awesome. I made it into a Cell Phone Ringer!!

Old School mono rock!!! :D

The Meteors - My Daddy Is A Vampire

sf2 ken's theme...

Tekken 6' OST is available for DownLoad at "" Be sure to check it out. Awesome site if you havent been there already.
