Financed and sponsored by the giant financial groups, the Mishima Zaibatsu, the first Tekken tournament began with eight fighters, all of whom had emerged victorious in death matches held all over the world, all motivated by different motives, all possessing the skill and power to crumble mountains.

Many battles were fought. But only one lone warrior emerged with the right to challenge Heihachi Mishima for the of King of the Iron Fists. This warrior was Kazuya, Heihachi's cold blooded son. Bearing the scar given to him by Heihachi, he enters into vicious combat with his father on the same field where Heihachi last struck down his own son and dropped him into a trench at age five.

After a grueling battle which raged on for hours, Kazuya emerged victorious by utilizing the skills which had been passed down from generation to generation of the Mishima clan. As Heihachi's broken body lay on the ground, Kazuya dropped to his knees and slowly lifted his father into his arms. Walked slowly to the edge of the same cliff where his father had left him to die, stared out over the landscape of all that was now his, and let go of his father's body. As Heihachi's body plummeted, Kazuya's smile gleamed in the sunlight...

One year has passed. The Mishima Zaibatsu under Kazuya's leadership has become even more powerful with its tendrils reaching to all corners of the world. Soon after his father's apparent death, Kazuya disappears into the shadows. However, rumors of his immense power, and a dark side, slowly begin to spread throughout the world. Exactly one year after the end of the first Tekken, a message is relayed from the Mishima Zaibatsu fortress to news agencies all over the world announcing a second tournament with a prize a thousand times that of the first.

So begins the tournament...

After a few days of fierce battles the King of Iron Fist Tournament 2 draws to a close. Jun Kazama comes to the stunning realization that Kazuya's supernatural strength stems from Devil. But she cannot help being drawn to him, propelled by a mystic force beyond her control.

Several days later, the final challenger arrives to face Kazuya, the organizer of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 2. In a reprise of the first Tekken Tournament, the father and son clash in a cursed blood battle. Eventually, Heihachi emerges scarred but victorious to regain control of the immense Mishima Conglomerate. Unaware of Devil's presence, Heihachi casts the lifeless Kazuya into a fiery volcano.

As Kazuya's body burns, the Devil appears before the pregnant Jun Kazama in a bid to enter the soul of the new life beating within her. But in a desperate struggle for the future of her child, Jun defeats Devil and retires to desolate Yakushima so as to raise Kazuya's son, Jin, alone.

Having regained control of the Mishima Conglomerate, Heihachi sets about to further increase his powers. He embarks on a crusade to win the trust of world leaders by putting wars and conflicts to rest. Using his immeasurable wealth, he forms Tekkenshu, a mercenary group employed to quell conflicts efficiently. He also takes a strong interest in the well being of developing nations by helping them build agricultural systems that will sustain them. Through Heihachi's efforts, the world appears to be regaining peace.

Around fifteen years have passed and Jin Kazama is now 15 years old.

Under Heihachi's orders, the Tekkenshu are excavating a Central American archeological site when they discover a mysterious life form. Heihachi orders the creature's capture, but loses contact with the Tekkenshu after a garbled radio message, "... they are all dead... Toshin (Fighting God)?!..." Upon arriving at the dig, Heihachi finds a field of corpses. Heihachi is wracked by sorrow, but also realizes that the power of the mysterious life form could be the key to his long dormant dream of world domination. To obtain this mysterious power of Toshin, and the world, Heihachi tempts the fates once again...

Within weeks, strange disappearances occur throughout the world. Persons of strong soul, masters of martial arts and other derivative fighting disciplines are reported missing... with no knowledge of their whereabouts.

Jun Kazama instinctively picks up on the dark power encroaching on her life. She has no understanding of what it is, but senses that she has become a target. Accepting her destiny, she tells Jin everything she knows of their haunted past to prepare him for the fateful day she now feels is imminent. She tells Jin to go to his grandfather Heihachi if anything befall her.

Her intuition proves right on a cold, stormy night. Toshin comes to the mountains bringing a chilling, swirling wind. "Run away!" cries Jun. But against his mother's pleas Jin opts to face Toshin and is knocked unconscious. When Jin awakens, the house and everything around it is burned to the ground. Jin searches frantically for his mother but she is nowhere to be found. Jun has died at Toshin's hands. Honoring her instructions, Jin goes to Heihachi and begs to be trained in order exact revenge. Heihachi, hearing Jin's tale, is convinced that Toshin is after the souls of powerful fighters. To attract Toshin, Heihachi decides to host the King of Iron Fist Tournament 3.

Four years later, on Jin Kazama's 19th birthday, the curtains rise for the King of Iron Fist Tournament 3.

...But Heihachi failed to capture Ogre.

Not willing to give up, Heihachi ordered his researchers to collect blood samples, skin tissue, and hoof fragments left behind by Ogre (or known as True Ogre in its true manifestation) in order to conduct genetic experiments. Heihachi’s goal was to create a new life form by splicing Ogre’s genome with his own. However, the research was unsuccessful. After extensive experimentation, Heihachi’s bioengineers came to the conclusion that an additional gene - the Devil Gene - was necessary in order to successfully splice Ogre’s genetic code into another living organism. Heihachi learned that his own genome lacked the Devil Gene, but he knew someone who did... Jin Kazama.

Two years ago Jin, who vanquished Ogre in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3, was shot and mortally wounded by Heihachi. As his life slipped away, Jin transformed into a Devil. Upon his transformation, he struck down Heihachi and took flight. Jin’s whereabouts were unknown after the Tournament. Heihachi searched for Jin to no avail. However, Heihachi discovered a photograph during his investigation that stirred his curiosity. The 20-year-old photograph was an image of a burnt corpse covered with laceration wounds. Heihachi paid particular attention to the corpse’s back, which had what looked like deformed, protruding wing-like limbs.

Convinced that the picture was of Kazuya, his own son whom he threw into a volcano 20 years ago, Heihachi diverted all his resources into a search for the body. This search eventually led Heihachi to G Corporation, a leading-edge biotech firm making unprecedented advances in the field of biogenetics research.

Heihachi discovered that G Corporation found the corpse and extracted and analyzed its genetic data. In fact, Heihachi learned that the company was in the midst of creating a new life form by using the data. Heihachi also determined that Kazuya’s remains and research data were secured at G Corporation’s Nebraska and Nepal research laboratories, respectively. On Friday, 25 December, the Tekken Force raided G Corporation’s maximum security research laboratory in Nepal. The bottom floors of the building were obliterated, and the remaining data storage facility containing file servers was airlifted by a group of heavy-duty helicopters.

At the same time, a separate unit led by Heihachi infiltrated the underground research facility in Nebraska, where Kazuya’s remains were preserved. As Heihachi observed from his helicopter, he soon realized that unlike the Nepal facility, the operations in Nebraska were not going according to plan. The tactical status monitor screens showed the first wave of the Tekken Force troops being blown out from the storage room where Kazuya’s remains were supposedly kept. A silhouette of a large figure slowly emerged from the room... When Heihachi could see clearly enough, he instantly recognized the large figure as Kazuya.

Kazuya was resurrected in G Corporation’s research facility. After his resurrection, Kazuya offered his body as research material to determine the true nature of the Devil that resided within him. Kazuya’s goal was to unify his two selves into one. Kazuya theorized that if he unified his body with the Devil, he would be able to truly harness its powers. He could then finally take revenge against Heihachi and the Mishima Zaibatsu (Financial Empire).

Enraged that Heihachi thwarted his plans, Kazuya obliterated the heavily armed Tekken Force and vanished into the flames of the lab’s wreckage. Heihachi was infuriated by Kazuya’s escape and took out his anger on his hapless subordinates who reported the escape.

Abel, Heihachi’s lead scientific advisor, urged the enraged Heihachi to quickly find a way to capture Kazuya. Once his anger subsided, Heihachi focused his mind and decided on a plan. An evil smile crept upon his lips. Two years had passed since The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3. The Mishima Zaibatsu announced The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4 and placed the massive financial empire as the top prize. The champion who manages to defeat Heihachi at the end of the Tournament would inherit the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Well aware that the tournament is just a trap designed to lure him out, Kazuya nevertheless enters - it is his chance to defeat Heihachi.

BRYAN FURY

country of origin : USA
fighting style : Kickboxing
age : 29
height : 186 cm
weight : 80 kg
blood type : AB
occupation : collecting brain data...?
hobby : collecting cigarette lighters
likes : haircut, loneliness, his snakeskin trousers
dislikes : bright sunlight

TEKKEN 3

Bryan Fury, an officer in the international police organization was killed in a shoot-out in Hong Kong. Bryan's corpse was transported to the laboratory of a man named dr. Abel. This 88-year-old scientist was fairly famous in the underground society, but his findings were often preceded by dr. Boskonovitch's. However, at last, he came to the last step of completing his master project... the cyborg army. Dr Abel thought that a perfect cyborg must have the mechanics built by his rival, dr. Boskonovitch and reanimated Fury's body and sent him off to collect this data. In his former life Bryan was known as a skillful detective, but on the other side, he was always followed by dark rumors. Investigating the Hong Kong drug trade, Lei Wulong discovered that Fury had connections with drug dealers. Bryan sneaks into the King of Iron Fist Tournament, targeting Yoshimitsu who has strong ties with Boskonovitch...
Although I don't know whether his mission was successful or not [ I bet it wasn't. Heh, Yoshimitsu is not an eight-year old boy. :-P ], here goes the next part of his story:

TEKKEN 4

Bryan came to the realization that his life was quickly coming to an end. Two years ago, the Mishima Zaibatsu recruited Doctor Abel as its top scientific advisor. When this happened, Abel abandoned Bryan without giving a second thought to the now-obsolete cyborg's well being.
Bryan knew that the only person capable of extending his life was Abel, his creator. Bryan despised both Heihachi Mishima, the man who took Abel away from him, and Abel himself for abandoning him.
One day, Bryan heard news of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, and decided to enter the Tournament. He entered knowing that it would probably be his final fight. As he trained, Bryan sensed that his death was quietly approaching.
Despite his impending death, Bryan's physical strength did not diminish. On the contrary, Bryan's muscles flowed with energy that made him more powerful than before. Along with this new strength, Bryan developed an almost uncontrollable rage that also manifested itself in his outward physical appearance.
Bryan staked everything on this one hope — if he won the Tournament, he would become the head of the Mishima Zaibatsu. More importantly, if Bryan defeated Heihachi Mishima in the tournament, he could easily take total control over the Mishima Zaibatsu to do his bidding.
If all went as planned, Bryan would command Abel to modify his body to prolong his life. This would also be an opportunity for him to upgrade his body.
It would be his opportunity to upgrade himself to the most powerful being in existance.

ENDING
What is interesting, Bryan's life was saved by Yoshimitsu! Yoshi transported unconscious Bryan to Dr Boskonovitch's laboratory, where he was repaired. ^_^ What will be Tekken 5 story then? Will Bryan feel a little bit of gratitude or will he just go away after all?

Nice mask.

KUNIMITSU

nationality: Japanese
fighting style: Manji Ninja Arts
age: Unknown
height: 173cm [ with ears or without ? ^_^ ]
weight: 58kg
blood type: O
occupation: Formerly Manji ninja; currently employed as a mercenary for the Mishima Conglomerate
hobby: Mechanics
likes: Knives
dislikes: Yoshimitsu [ how dare you?! ], crowds

TEKKEN 2

Yoshi's best known enemy is Kunimitsu, red-haired and always masked kunoichi, who is also known as "The Cat Devil". She was a former member of the Swastika clan of ninja bandits lead by Yoshimitsu. She lost her Japanese identity when she joined the group to maintain her annonimity. Upon joining, she was taught the skills of the stealth knife at the Swastika ninja schools of "Jujutau". She stayed with the group for a few months, until a series of petty thefts from the bands funds led to her dismissal. At a loose end, she decided to train as a mechanic mending air conditioners.
She entered the first Iron Fist tournament with the intent on stealing a native American treasure from a young brave (Michelle Chang). Kunimitsu was easily defeated. Feeling humiliated, she saught solace with her grandfather. He was a swordsmith with a reputation. He informed Kunimistu that the sword used by Yoshimitsu (also called Yoshimitsu), was a relic of unimaginable value. She learnt that it was handed down through the Swastika band and it had the power to sever an enemy both spiritually and mentallly. The sword exchanges hands when a new leader is elected. The old leader is ritually sacrificed and the swords power is transferred to it's new owner. Kunimitsu's grandfather has spent his entire existance trying to forge a copy of the sword.
Kunimitsu entered the second tournament to face and defeat Yoshimitsu and claim the sword so that her grandfather can make a copy before his death!

Little punching bags :)

ROGER / ALEX

nationality: none
fighting style: Command Wrestling
age: Unknown
height: Roger: 160cm / Alex: 155cm
weight: Roger: 80kg / Alex: 75kg
blood type: ?
occupation: Training
hobby: None
likes: None
dislikes: None

TEKKEN 2

Alex:
The atrocious living thing was captured to have it's DNA collected. The DNA of the dinosaur, which is collected from an insect contained in the amber of tree sap, was collected by the military animal research team which develops the strongest of military animals. Still, it is not mature but it has aggressive power. If it becomes an adult, it is expected to become the strongest living thing.

Roger:
Roger is an advancing development of the military animal research team. This research organization modifies the DNA of the kangaroo until it reaches the point where it has the mobility above the usual kangaroo (as for jump) e.g., at 1 time 23 meters, in addition it runs at speed per hour 60 kilometer.

Tekken Animation:
It seems that Roger is Dr Boskonovitch's pet! His appearance was maybe the cutest ever [ nice twinkling eyes! ]. Moreover, in Roger/Alex Tekken Tag Tournament ending is shown no other than Yoshimitsu, playing with the animals the game "Stone, paper, scissors". The rules are simple: Stone defeats scissors [ because it can blunt metal ], scissors defeat paper [ because it cuts paper ] and paper defeats stone [ because paper can wrap around a stone ]. Roger and Alex cannot show anything else than a stone because of their boxing gloves, so Yoshimitsu is plain cheating! ^_^ LOL.
To sum up, it makes a sense: whenever Yoshi pays a visit in Doctor's lab, he may play with Doctor's pets too. ^_^

Yo Ganny, how's Michelle?

GANRYU

nationality: Japanese
fighting style: Sumo Wrestling
age: [T1] 32, [T2] 34
height: 189cm
weight: 125kg
blood type: B
occupation: Kazuya's Bodyguard
hobby: Gambling
likes: Japanese white radish (buridaikon)
dislikes: ?

TEKKEN 1, 2

Ganryu is a sumo wrestler of great merit. He is also the youngest fighter ever to gain the "Ozeki". Once this title was gained, many who watched the sport (including a certain bandit leader, Yoshimitsu ^_^) thought Ganryu would reap the rewards and challenge fot the title of "Yokozuna"; a title he was more than capable of winning, but his immoral style (such as starting bouts with fire breathing and a fanfare whilst taunting his opponents, and also a bad gambling habit) lead to a dishonourable discharge and gave Ganryu the chance to join the crime world.
This path of life lead Ganryu into pursuing one overriding purpose; to become the world's strongest man in a move that he feels is just and honourable. This of course lead to his arrival into the first tournamnet where he was defeated by a one time fan, Yoshimitsu. Noticing his skill, Kazuya hired the sumo once he retook the Mishima estate, paying him more than enough to feed his gambling addiction.
Ganryu is participating in the 2nd tournamnet as Kazuya's bodyguard but also for another reason; so that he may express his love for a Native American girl called Michelle Chang whom he fell in love with after seeing her movements and physique!
Ganryu has been in Tekken 1, Tekken 2 and TTT.
One more thing: Yoshimitsu liked Ganryu so much that he is claimed to incorporate a Rainbow Drop to his fighting arts, which was influenced by Ganryu's style. ^_^ Also, Yoshimitsu is said to have stolen Ganryu's money earned on gambling!

Guess up: is he tanned or not? :P

OGRE

nationality: God of Fighting. ^_^
fighting style: ???
age: Ageless
height: Varies in form
weight: Varies in form
blood type: ? green one :-P
occupation: Claiming souls :-P
hobby: ?
likes: Probably what he does :-)
dislikes: ?

TEKKEN 3

The God of Fighting... [ also known as To-shin ] The legend of Native Americans says the Ogre is the war weapon which creatures from outer space left on earth in ancient time. It understands entire structures of all living and artificial beings, and absorbs them. It wanders the earth in search of strong souls.
If Ogre is really pissed off, [ LOL ], he transfroms his body into his true form, called simply "True Ogre". Besides his usual moves, True Ogre can spit fire, teleport and fly... and in general, True Ogre doesn't look very friendly. :-)
Ogre [ in fact: Ogre's blood, but I don't think Ogre would agree to take his blood with a syringe, LOL ] was Yoshimitsu's target during Tekken 3 tournament, but it's not clear whether Yoshi reached his aim or not... Namco doesn't really care about Tekken history.

He looks like an owl...

HEIHACHI MISHIMA

nationality: Japanese
fighting style: Mishima Karate
age: [T1] 52 [T2] 54 [T3] 73 [T4] 75
height: 180cm
weight: 80kg
blood type: B
occupation: Leader of Mishima Financial Empire.
hobby: Meditation, bathing & collecting shoes.
likes: Geta collection, ruling the world.
dislikes: Nothing

TEKKEN 1, 2

During the first Tekken tournament, Heihachi was defeated by his son Kazuya. Kazuya then took over the Mishima Financial Empire and ruled it to his heart's content. Beaten by Kazuya, in an instant he lost both his fame and family. Having spent his previous time indulging in deviant acts instead of training, he vows to regain what he has lost.

TEKKEN 3

Family matters... Heihachi retrieved the Mishima Financial Empire by defeating his son. Scheming to further develop the MFE, Heihachi organized "Tekken Force", the MFE's private corps, and dispatched them to settle disputes and bring wasteland under cultivation to feed the poor countries of the world, in order to gain the support of leaders worldwide.
Fifteen years later, a secret excavation of Central American ruins by the Tekken Forces unearths an unusual find. They were annihilated by a mysterious being. Heihachi realized that the mysterious being could be the legendary Ogre, and took action to realize his life's goal: to capture Ogre and therefore rule the world.
One day, Heihachi was visited by a 15-year-old boy named Jin Kazama. Being informed that Jin was his grandson and hearing what had happened to his mother, Jun, Heihachi reasoned that Ogre thrives on the "strong souls" of others. Heihachi trained Jin to use him as a decoy to lure Ogre. In Jin's 19th year, Heihachi declared to the world that the third "King of the Iron Fist Tournament" was forthcoming. At the same time he noticed that Jin, the youngest of Mishima bloodline, began to show the same dangerous power Kazuya had. Heihachi decided to dispose of Jin after he lures Ogre, in order to end the doomed destiny of the MFE.

TEKKEN 4

Two years ago, Heihachi failed to capture Ogre. He made his researchers collect blood and tissue left behind by Ogre and attempted to create a new life form by combining its genetic material with his own. The experiment failed, however, and Heihachi learned that he lacked the Devil Gene necessary to integrate Ogre’s genome into his.
In order to obtain the Devil Gene, Heihachi searched for Jin, who transformed into a devil during the last Tournament. During the search, Heihachi learned that the body of his son, Kazuya - whom he killed 20 years ago - was stored at a cutting-edge biotech firm called G Corporation.
Heihachi ordered his Tekken Force to raid G Corporation in an attempt to obtain Kazuya’s remains. They obliterated G Corporation’s laboratory, and the mission appeared to be successful. …That was until Kazuya, revived by G Corporation, retaliated and caused the mission to fail.
Heihachi needed Kazuya or Jin’s body to create the new life form. After much deliberation, an evil smile crept onto Heihachi’s lips.
The next day, an announcement was made for The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, with the Mishima Zaibatsu as the prize.

In Tekken 4 Tournament, Heihachi became Yoshimitsu's target. Yoshi must defeat Heihachi at any cost to take over Mishima Zaibatsu and unite it with Manjitou. It would be a fulfilment of his greatest dreams. Anyway, as Yoshi's ending shows, Heihachi don't even think of giving the Zaibatsu to anyone. But Yoshimitsu is not gullible: knowing what kind of a man Heihachi is, he devised a plan of stealing the Mishima Zaibatsu safe once again. Yeah, Mishima Zaibatsu was once plundered during Tekken 1 Tournament by no one else than Yoshi and his fellow Manji Ninjas!
