Yoshimitsu is
an odd character, to make a huge understatement. He's some kind of cyborg,
and he seems to get more and more mechanized as each Tekken installment
is released. And, although the story is very ambiguous on this point,
he apparently is an alien. As if that wasn't enough, he stabs himself
when he fights, spins around until he falls, and gives life to his opponents.
But that's not
all, his personality is particulary unusual. He's very much a "Robin
Hood", and he is extremely, in fact, extravagantly humane. His
purpose for entering the Iron Fist tournaments is always to help others
in some way.
And then there's
his involvement with Kunimitsu. Although the story is again vague, I
percieve (this isn't written in stone, there are many interpretations
of the Tekken story) that Yoshi was afraid that Kuni, who was the only
match for his power in the Manji Clan, would overthrow him. He uses
an incident that comes up as an excuse to cast her from Clan [ Well,
I don´t think so. *Tenshimitsu*]. Kuni seems to hate Yoshi for
this, but I'm not sure if the feeling is mutual. Yoshi doesn't seem
as if he could hate anyone. For this reason, I'm hesitant to believe
that Kuni was killed by Yoshi in the second Iron Fist, it just seems
so unlike him(although his TTT ending says otherwise-_-'). Although,
I'm quite convinced that if Kuni had the chance, she would have killed
Yoshi(*sweatdrop*).
It's quite likely
that Kuni and Yoshi were meant to be exact opposites of one another.
Yoshi is male; Kuni is female. Yoshi is devoted to helping others; Kuni
is more concerned with self-preservation. Yoshi is exhaustingly good,
while Kuni is not evil, but not quite nice either^.^ Yoshi seems simple;
Kuni seems cunning. Yoshi is a cyborg space alien; Kuni is human. It's
an intresting thought, and it offers some insight as to their rivalry...
New viewpoint.
Now, I realize that you can't tell how old Yoshimitsu is. But it's kind
of a given that he's older than Kunimitsu. What if he was more of a
fatherly figure to Kuni? It makes sense, kind of, but it doesn't really
explain why they would dislike each other so much. Unless Kuni really
was the one at fault when she got kicked out of the Manji clan...but
I have trouble believing that^_^

Yoshimitsu is
very weird being. dispite being a ninja and an alien (or is he?), he's
extremly humane, friendly, and loyal to his friends (aka Dr B, alas).
his purpose in every tournament has been to help others in some way.
Yoshi seems very
genial and amiable (and adorable ^_^) and i don't think he'd enter the
Iron Fist tournaments if he didn't have to. i think he's the kind of
leader type who wants to keep his clan hidden and stay out of everyone
else's business. but his ideals prevent this and that makes him a good
guy.
then there's this
thing i mentioned earlier...is he an alien? everyone knows that he's
a 'space ninja' in Tekken 3's time, but what about earlier? his name
gives away that he's japanese, so what if he was just an ordinary guy
who happened to be a leader of a ninja clan and know a certain nutty
professor who likes to turn people into cyborgs? this would give interesting
new viewpoints to his nature. his profile says that he has no nationality,
so he's not part of the mankind. but if he used to be a human, he's
not an alien either. i'm sorry to say this, but that makes him an outcast
(poor Yoshi ~_~). some people say that he's an alien judging from his
age -- it's unknown, but he has been part of Tekken from the very beginning.
But then, on the other hand, so have Paul and Heihachi, and they don't
seem to get tired, so why should Yoshi. though the thought of Yoshi
being ageless is enticing -- having Yoshi in every Tekken ^_^
unfortunately
Yoshi's past (and life generally) is shrouded in mystery, so it is very
difficult to make any conclusions about his history, nature or race.

profile says that his ex-japanese.

Yoshimitsu looks really good (in tekken 1,2,3) and I like him cuz he's funny, his moves are easy to learn yet powerful. Too bad he and Kunimitsu are rivals cuz I think they'd make the cutest couple ^_^

Well , I think that yoshi is the best warrior in All of the Tekken series...He has a good combination of speed, strengh, cunning,& he has the best arsenal of moves.
Yoshi is very powerful, beacuse he has alot of unblockable & defenseive moves. He has the fastest basic punch in Tekken 1-3, & he is very funny.
All of his moves could be used as taunts & he also possesses the power of regaining life , taking life & giving life(u heard me, giving life) , all other characters cannot do this which in my view is a good thing(only Yoshi, should be awarded this gift).
He has the very best Basic Juggle starter(d/f+2)
In all of tekken, as this move not only dogdes some high attacks, but it carries u forward(much more forward than the others) & gives a slight bit of a lift more than some others.
He has THE BEST Juggle starter in all of Tekken, which is his BadBreath...this move cannot be ducked in tekken 3(& I think tekken 4), it cannot be reversed, it cannot be blocked, & it cannot be jumped , it also has good recovery time & excellent exucution time.
One of the best things about yoshi , is that he can evade almost any move you throw at him which makes him even deadlier.
Although Yoshi's story is not that great as the other tekken characters, it's a good strory.
Yoshi is a very noble creature with a noble heart.
He TAKES from the rich & gives to the poor, & He only enters the Tekken tournaments for a good cause & never holds a grudge against his enemies.
Yoshi has all the characteristics of a good human being, & one of mines (Going to the Arcade)
One of the things I admire most about him, is that
mashers don't use him & scrubs can't use him. He takes time to master & is yet easy to learn, unlike characters like Lei & Hwoarang.
Another very good thing about Yoshi is, the kinds
of moves he possess cannot be used to play cheap &
are very long ranged (When using his sword that is).
Another thing that comes to mind is Kunimistu.
She has some of yoshi's qualities & yet is so very different. But I do think She & yoshi would make a very good team if she was less selfish. That's what seperates the two: One is selfcentered & ignorant, while the other is kind, generous & wise. The greed Kuni has inside her is what basically seperates the two, but other than
that they would make a very good team & couple.
Well that's my view & opinion on Yoshi...thanx for
listening, I'm sure Yoshi will reveal other good qualities in time to come! =^.^=

Yoshimitsu is the mechanized space ninja. He lives his life to help those in need. He is the eternal warrior, the supreme ninja. Yoshi has a good soul and he lives to help others. After his family was murdered he lived his life for revenge. Then he wisely realized living life for revenge would be an empty life. So he decided to honor his beloved Manji clan by living his life to bring good to the world. Now the name Yoshimitsu and the Manji clan are forever connected with strength, charity, and honor. Surely the benevolent spirits of past Manji clan members give Yoshi the power to overcome any evil. Yoshi's physical appearance is one of his great mysteries. A man, a cyborg, sometimes he seems supernatural. Maybe a combination of ancient spirits and super technology. Surely the sword he caries is an artifact of unknown power. Yoshi also upgrades his body armor and cybernetic parts with help of Dr B's technology. Maybe Yoshi is fully mechanized enough so he will never die-who knows? But we do know he's one of the coolest fighters, always has awesome character design, and is an all around good guy. You wish Yoshi was real so you could maybe hang out at the arcade with him, or just give him a big hug. sichi soku sei krr

Yoshi is practically my favorite character! He is a bit of a challenge to play with and my Tekken 4 buddies can't believe that I'm so good with him. You guys have a great page! I've been looking everywhere for some new combos because I know almost everything about the Manji Arts. Yoshi Worshipers, Manji Masters, we are the rarest in existence. May Yoshimitsu live forever! HAHAHAHAHA!
Yoshimitsu has always been in the Tekken since birth. Every line fighters lineup has included a mysterious masked swordsman who the other fighters hardly know. His appearence has always served with a touch of fear which others may mistaken him as "evil". But behind the demon mask, a kind heart exists that can't help but to help the innocent. The mask of Yoshi has never been lifted in the eyes of public which leaves one mystery unsolvable. Is the Yoshimitsu in this present day, the same Yoshimitsu from the original Tekken. The Manji-clan leaders are sacrifices in due time and a new leader rises to claim the sword also known as the Yoshimitsu. I have a theory that the Yoshimitsu we know and honor may not be the man in the armor, but the soul of the "sword" itself. It would seem like proof that Yoshi's physical icon is his robotic left arm, but what if that is a adding gift from the sword. I'm not saying I know the truth but it's just a hunch. The Yoshimitsu we know is probably the same guy since the first and is at least somewhere at the age as of Paul Phoenix and Heihachi Mishima (40 - 75:doubt it! >_<). Anyway, that is one of my strange observations where I think too deeply into something so simple. HA.
One more opinion from me, I think Yoshi is the best "entertainment" fighter since people I play sometimes freak out in their confusion. Yoshi's ability to heal, perform mezmerizing moves, and even hurt himself has left him as the bigger stunt man of the Tekken series. Yoshi has the power to make people become confused, outraged, histerical, or even shocked in amazement. Yoshimitsu rocks the arena and he better return to every Tekken or Soul Calibur there is yet to be created! I mean it! If Yoshi fails to fight in Tekken, then Tekken will be nothing to me anymore. Yoshimitsu is all I have, all other characters are not fun for me. If Kunimitsu decides to return, then it more fun for me.
Here's a Yoshimitsu Opinion for everyone who has played every Tekken up to 4. After playing randomly between Tekken 3 and 4, I have made some observation on some changes Yoshi has gone through. Playing feels really different between the umlimited battlefields and closed-in arenas. I believe that Yoshi is easier to move with when it comes to Tekkens 1 through Tag, but some of Yoshi's moves are slower than the Yoshimitsu in Tekken 4. Faster moves are indeed important but to me, I also feel that Tekken 4's controls are kinda rusty and harder to play with. This is very frustrating to me. I hope someone understands my perspective of this matter.

Here is my opinion about the Legendary Space Ninja:
Yoshi was, at the beggining, my favourite character because he has the sword, he is the ninja and he can do weird moves. But later I realized his really advantages. He has the best unblockables, cool and useful stances, fastest left jab(for poking), GREAT juggle ability (he can juggle many ways, but he has the best Basic Uppercut), and he CAN HEAL! If you know when and where to heal, you will beat lot of opponents easily, and annoy them as hell. We all know who are Button Mashers. They Just pick Eddy and start mashing buttons and kill everything on their path. But this can`t be done on Yoshi, if master plays him! You can poke them with Basic punch to death (my favourite), or kill them with unblocklables, juggle them to death, or string them! Yoshi has the easiest strings in the game, and all of them end in unblockables! Also, Yoshi isn`t for Mashers, because it takes a lot of time to master him. You can know all of his moves, BUT you need to know what move to use in what situation. There aren`t many Yoshi players, but the ones who play as him, are true Experts! Also,I like the fact that Yoshi is a positive character, and he helped a lot of people. He has beaten Kunimitsu, and surely he is better than her, but she has his ONLY true opponent. Too bad...maybe she shouldn`t die...Other thing I love with Yoshi is the fact he SMILES ALL THE TIME! Slam him, throw him, punch him, defeat him, kill him, but he will NEVER stop smiling! Pretty cool. Yoshi is definetively the most original character in Tekkens, and he is in my opinion, the best fighter of all time!

Yoshimitsu is the best character that I have ever played
with, in all the games I have ever played. I'm not intending to
depreciate any game, but before Tekken, my favourite games used to be Dragon
Ball Final Bout and Marvel VS Capcom, with that KI strikes that stopped
the game just for you strike. Oh please! Come on, no one never saw
someone in the earth use a Ki strike like a KameHameHa, I liked Tekken by
the real style of fighting, the powerful punches and kicks, and the old
japanese styles of fighting. The ninjas and the samurais. That time I
used to like this things, I read Shogun 1, 2, 3 and of course my
favourite character was Yoshimitsu, because of the deadly sword, a mysterious
lightsabre, the speed of the ninja, the spins. Yoshimitsu could never
be compared to human fighters in his strenght, speed, evasives,
defenses, unblockables...
The only human thing I could see in him was the kindness, his purpose
in life, his mercy, in this he was human, more human than Kunimitsu,
that was selfish. Well, I have my own theories about their past and about
what happened after Tekken 2 and next Tekken series, and I always write
it in my fan fiction. I think Kuni started being evil when Yoshi was
chosen by the legendary sword, everyone started dealing with him better
than with hers, thay have made him leader and she was forgotten, that's
the rivalry, it's my theory. But, Yoshi had mercy, and could never kill
Kuni at Tekken 2. He was a good man, that knew about the neverending
cycle of revenge, that each time you satisfy the revenge, your soul is
taken by the evil, you are never completely satisfied and you are
destroyed. Yoshi could never kill someone by revenge, and would avoid
unecessary deaths.
Another interesting thing about him (I think ^_^) is that he is the guy
with more improves and more new useful attacks from each Tekken. Look,
in TK 1 the Space Ninja had his sword stab that wasn't so good, he had
a few spins and one of the best attacks was the shark attack and dive
bomb; Then, in the Tekken 2 (this is getting better) he become the
Bionic Space Ninja, and with the spinning arm, he could spin the sword for
cutting the opponent or flying, and he had evasive spins, AND he could
Heal and teleport thru meditation!! In TK3 he was the Mechanized Space
Ninja, his greatest improve was unique, he could steal the energy from
the enemy or give his energy if wanted, and also had the incredible
Clonimitsu, spliting himself in two!!! In TK4 he has so many continuations
for meditation, new pogo attacks and what no one else can make, learn
attacks!! He really can't be stopped, what will they do next? There's no
limits for Yoshimitsu...
Hey, about the age, I think he has the same age as Paul, but maybe
because the sword he is like Nina, he stopped aging when he got the sword
(who can say for sure?). I think he is from somewhere near the serene
forest and the manji hideout.
I really wish Yoshimitsu to be forever in the Tekken and Soul Calibur
Series, and what about the back of Kunimitsu??
Another thing, it can't be just me that realized how similar is the
thing between Yoshimitsu/Kunimitsu and Armor King/King (the first). Yoshi
is mechanized, such as Armor King, but Kuni is a human with a mask, as
King. The relationship is something between enemies and friends or
maybe both... Interesting
And what about his winning stances, that "Shichi soku sei..." I think
it's about something of the seven planets of the japanese hells, or I
might be completely wrong ^_^
