I mean, I'm no pro player but...
He's so different now! I like the classic Yoshi with a million weird moves to confuse the hell out of your opponents. The new Yoshi seems extremely linear.
Also he's got far too many punch attacks, despite having 2 swords and a flag lol. He went from being a fast middle range character to a short range poke character. Oh, and they took out Kinchou stance? Are you kidding me?!
But I like the new costume. Also, in one of his win quotes he refers to the old Yoshimitsu as "Chief" haha that makes me smile. :)))
I actually disagree, I am really liking this Yoshi, So many transitions! I am ashamed to say I think this is a more complete version of a Yoshimitsu moveset than we have seen recently.. Also Kinchou is missing, but SC Yoshi gets Super Dragonfly, which I think is a good tradeoff.. Yoshi has an amazing level of complexity here, I am quite suprised actually, I love this game, and the online is the best Fighting game netcode I have played yet!
I haven't played SCV, but this newer Yoshimitsu II looks awesome.
Sorry you're disappointed, dude.
At least Yoshimitsu II's Japanese voice sounds sexy.
THAT ALL I CARE ABOUT!!! ^______________________________________^
If you had some time to write down here some of his quotes, I would be a very happy tenshi
I love his quotes, anything new from what we've heard already? What is he saying about his "chief"?
Added 40 seconds later:
I'm thinking about buying myself SCV... anything to really convince me as far as the SC system goes?
I've seen "I will avenge you, Chief." on the Soulcalibur Wiki. That's awesome.
I also like, "To see what is right, and not to do it, is want of courage."
"Heaven's net is wide. Though course, nothing slips through."
"I am Yoshimitsu the second!" <-- he says this wayyy too many times...
Oh and that's another thing, fewer opening / victory quotes!! Lol ok ok enough hate.
His mask opens up at the start of match, closes shut upon victory. It repeatedly opens and closes during his feet-clapping victory pose.
His eyes glow red upon victory, and the Buddha on his head emits a bright glowing aura.
In the Battle Ships stage:
When one of the fighters is on matchpoint, a short animation is shown where the ship you are fighting on is blasted with a cannon, revealing the inside of the ship. The fighters then descend to this new area (like a Tekken style floor break). Everyone jumps down and falls to their knees before resuming the next round, except Yoshi. He descends slowly in dragonfly stance. I don't know if other characters have unique animations, but Yoshi certainly does.
I honestly enjoyed SCIV much much more. This game does not feel like a true sequel. It seems specifically catered to hardcore online players. However, it is a faster game, combos are significantly more powerful, and the new rapid sidestep is a welcome change. The music and stages are lovely as always, and everything looks very pretty - no surprise there. I'd normally say "go and buy it!", but maybe you should rent this one first. Just seems like SCIV was deeper and more fun.
Yoshi only says "I will avenge you, Chief!", when he fights against Voldo.
So, what do you think happened to the first Yoshimitsu? I've just assumed that Yoshimitsu II either fought him for the leadership or was chosen as the next leader by the first one; either way, I think it's safe to say that he beheaded the first Yoshimitsu.
Although, the face that he swears revenge when fighting against Voldo makes me suspect fouler play. You think maybe Voldo defeated Yoshimitsu?
That would not be nice... It makes me want to buy SCV even more.
Hmm, do you have any source from which you learn about SCV system? Any tutorials/FAQ?
If you're asking me, then no, I'm afriad I've never really been serious about gameplay. (That's been changing recently, though. :P)
