Yoshimitsu in SFxT!

Thanks bro ^^

So yesterday, I decided to just go balls out and take on everyone I come across in Ranked match. This went surprisingly a lot better than I would have imagined.
In the beginning I didn't have the perfect balance with my team, but after 5 matches, I got it down. I now have a 25 win and 2 lose record. I lost 1 time against a very strong player (3rd place in Belgium), who I beat 4 times in return after my loss. The other loss was from a frustrating Juri/Kazuya team, who used every bit of laggy situation to his advantage. Frustrating as it was, it was very interesting and I learned quite a bit of utilising lag to my own advantage. (Though I won't ever start a match when I see the connection just clearly sucks ass. Avoiding it like the plague from now on)

Atm I'm having a 13 win streak going on and 1150-ish BP, I'm curious how high I can get with my beloved Yoshimitsu team ^^

All in a day's work~

That's awesome, dude!  Way to represent! :D

Yo bro, you won't believe this bro.

Just saw twitter of mike ross, and he said that according to the japanese people, yoshimitsu is the weakest characters in SFxTK followed by paul...damn aren't we out of luck. Or maybe IN luck, to tell the truth I'd rather beat people with a low tier character then a top tier character =)

man, I just saw the tier list...
Wanted to post it, but you beat me to it.

I'm surprised I'm beating people up with the lowest tier character in the game xD!

Why, that's where Tekken 6 Yoshi sits as well, the difference for me is that in the Street Fighter world, it feels much more insulting, they managed to translate exactly none of the "essence of Yoshimitsu".. At least Soul Calibur Yoshi has the same sort of trickery, set-ups, and can be played with "style". This Yoshimitsu doesn't get it, he talks like Yoda, he has one stance, and nothing strong into or out of that stance. It's very disappointing to me, but I will keep playing because there is a small tournament at my local gamestop next weekend, first prize gets a madcatz fightpad, and I wouldn't mind having one of those to try it out. After that, I may not play this game much, did you hear TTT2 may hit consoles as soon as September!!! Gotta train my Roger!

Yeah, it really stings to see Yoshimitsu at the bottom.  This is probably one of the only times the hardcore SF fans will be exposed to one of the coolest characters in video game history and all they get is this shitty impression. :(

I prefer Yoshi low tier, and respect players who play with other low tier charcters. Low tier for the win!

 ^ u said it :D

But seriously, yoshimitsu can be usefull tho. He's not great on point but he is REALLY REALLY good as an assist. The best thing u can do is give him meter gaining gems and put him as anchor. He has the best air attack, jump-ins and he can suck everyone into his windmill, combined with the fact that u can tag cancel out of that move, makes him a really good assist mixup character.

At least, that's how my brother plays with him, and he hasn't lost a single match online =)

So yeah yoshimitsu may not be the strongest fighter one on one, but he certainly has the best assist (tag cancel move) in the game :D

I don't know if it was here earlier, but here:

... is a very nice guide to Yoshimitsu.

Good post Tenshi ^^

great guide for pretty much everyone who hasn't discovered his tools yet

Found some very interesting unique new piece of information and tactics for Yoshimitsu.
Yoshimitsu's Suicide EX move can lock the screen, allowing the tagged in character to do corner specific combos at midscreen.

Added 1 day later:

phew, today was a good day!

17 win streak, 1 lose
and now 27 win streak ^^

gonna discuss some new Yoshi tatics in the future (hint: it involves flea stance)

Added 11 hours 46 minutes later:

ridiculous helpful video to use into your oki game. Definitely worth trying all of these out

Credit goes to Vulcan Hades who's been a huge help in the Yoshimitsu threads on SRK.

also, Marduk, Kuma ( or any any other grappler) or characters that can do meterless high damaging combos is a perfect fit for yoshimitsu after a windmill that's being tagged in

Angelboy, you are now an admin of the SFxTK Strategy blog.
Feel free to post there strategies, movies and anything you wish.

Yosha!
Thanks for giving me this honour Tenshi!

I must say in advance that I'm currently having a lot of training sessions in SSF4AE, though.
There's a big Benelux tournament coming up on the 5th of may (my birthday) with 1000 dollar prize.

tournament is supported by madcatz, capcom and other big names..

training in SSF4AE comes with improved skills in SFXT so, be certainly tuned in for more secret new godlike Yoshitech!

Good news everyone!
Yoshi isn't absolutely trash anymore!

I thought the patch wouldn't do shit to help our beloved yoshimitsu in the street fighter world, but Capcom still did a pretty good job!
He's got A LOT of buffs!

Seems my other thread is a bit redundant with this one, but then again it can be more general there xD
Yoshimitsu's biggest problems may be addressed. I always hated his hitboxes...they seemed...illogical? Awful =/ His sword's range was about only half of what it appeared right?
Now though, he has SF-level anti-air prowess, and Suicide is actually a high risk, high reward move that has Pandora gimmick written all over it. I cannot wait to see the new Yoshimitsu...and more importantly, play the Masters of Darkness once more.

Street Fighter x Tekken – Yoshimitsu Tech Tutorial by Vulcan Hades

Vulcan has done it again! The most in-depth and amazing character tutorial created for SFxT.
The videos go about Yoshi's BnB's, oki game, his j.HK vortex, Poison breath and pandora usage.

He makes notes (with youtube's annotation notes) in the videos on what carries over in 2013 and what will work (better), so leave it on if you want to see everything explained.

I saw that, Vulcan is a busy guy! I need to really dust off SF x T and play it, but my controllers...bleh. I have an AGE wired controller I guess I'll have to hope works decently.

With the new changes, it seems Yoshimitsu will lose emphasis on CADC, or at least so much as a battery. That said, along with no real research for the other characters' respective changes, who will be his better partners now?
