YOT Awards - chit chatting

Nope, Namco Bandai America answered to my email, European Namco is silent.
But I'm trying different other ways now, if everything fails, I'll eventually phone them. O_O

Dammit, first 5 seconds must be brilliant. :) You heard about this theory? During first seconds, everybody is building an opinion about the other man.

What ? I didn't really understand what you mean...sorry ^^'
But do you think calling will work more efficiently than mailing cuz you can mail people with high authority directly (most of the time) but never phone them directly if you know what I mean. How about twittering harada or someone who works there ?
What are you trying to get from them anyway cuz I don't even know that, maybe I can help :p

Making them aware of our little Yoshi home here, will at the very least get us some recognition and maybe publicity, at the very best, they might donate some prizes for this competition. The site has been going for 10 years and that is pretty impressive and surely worth some recognition.

Tenshi was saying that, because people make an opinion in the first few seconds of meeting, it is vital to get those first few seconds perfect.

Ow like that, yeah it was because of her "theory" that I wasn't really sure what she meant. And yeah it's true, it's hard to change someone's first impressions. But how can she fail, seriously =D I believe in you :)

Indeed, we all believe in you Tenshimitsu.
You're gonna do it perfectly~

# Tenshimitsu : Nope, Namco Bandai America answered to my email, European Namco is silent.

Wait, if they're based here in America, then I can call them for you! For free! :D

You could tell me what you want to tell them and I can call on your behalf. It'd be very professional, I think. Almost like I'm your secretary. :P

lol Secretary :D

Hey, hope it's okay to change the subject mid flow. We can cope with more than one topic at once, right? I mastered the skill when I used to chat on msn too much ^^ (I STILL chat on msn but have since discovered daylight and fresh air).

Anyway, I was wondering if those of us entering fanfics for the competition, could maybe write a little about it in the application section? I intend to read every one entered, but it would be nice to have a little overview of the story too (like reading the back of a book ^^). Really though, I am just nervous about entering mine and would like a chance to kind of explain myself before putting people through the ordeal of reading it. I know a good story needs no explanation but you see, my story is part of a larger saga and although I THINK it stands alone, it's not really like a usual fanfic. More a story that happens to feature Yoshimitsu as a main character, amongst characters who have themselves been main characters in their own stories. Also, I feel I must explain why on Earth I am in the story myself!!! :p

I suppose I could write up little blurbs of the fanfiction I've submitted. Sure! :D

Also, everyone, please don't be afraid to apply a few entries for the YOT Awards. So far, A.K. and I are the only ones who have, and I know for sure that there are a lot of people on this site who are more talented that I am! :D (I still really want to win that figurine though. XD) It'll be more fun if more people join, I think. So come on, everyone! Let's show our YOT pride and have a bit of friendly competition! :D

More people WILL join in, but we have to be patient and give them time to create pieces for the competition. In my case, I have had to edit my story for a few spelling errors and inconsistencies that have always bothered me. I'm not re-writing huge chunks or anything, just cleaning it up a bit. I won't submit my entry until the final chapter has been re-submitted.

YOT is a small community, so the competition won't be huge, but more will take part and some of us have been prodding members off the site and trying to convince them to take part.

If anyone IS working on something to submit, maybe let us know so we have an idea how many will eventually enter. Also, if anyone is in touch with YOT members who don't visit often but have a fanfic or fanart uploaded, maybe give them a nudge? Maybe they will be contactable through deviant art or whatever?

Things are going quite well... I contacted FilthieRich, Namco's Community Manager. We will see if he manages to lend us a helping hand. :)

@ Off topic... Eh Bozzz... Can u chance our Member ships into More Cool names like... Manji warlod or Manji master... instead of Member, Elite member or things like that... i mean i like the current nomenclature but still

We should be hooked on to something Samurai or Ninja ranks.. shinobi or Genin... or somthing like that :D( Damn Naruto :P )

I don't have anything to share, so I'm not gonna enter, sorry ^^'
I'm not even a yoshimitsu fan, but I don't hate him either, I like him but not to the extreme that I'll be drawing about him or write a story about or somthin. (plus I haven't drawn for years, my drawing skills are like shit now)
My brother will not be entering too I think, I can't speak for him ofcourse but he already has so much work for school so...
Still looking forward to it too

I think everyone should give it a shot.. No matter how you feel about your art/fan fictions. It's all a bit of fun! Yot is a community, and we should enter free heartedly.

This is just a lil' idea I had so take it or leave it. Yoshimitsu's birthday is (apparently) almost exactly one month before YOT's (July 18th), so could we maybe open up the voting on this day? Would this give people enough time to prepare something to enter? If so, would we allow late submissions if necessary? Also, how many votes would each member have? Will we each just vote for one person in each category? Or could we rate EVERY entry out of 10 (for example), like judges in an ice skating competition? There will be a selected panel won't there (I think Tenshi said this somewhere)? Okay, that's a few questions, but I'm just curious and throwing around ideas.
