The most noobish noob thread ever..

lol cute pad :D!!!
And yes, Nancy is irritating. Especially when you're sidestepping or doing the deathcopter move and u forget Nancy made a little hole where u can fall into (Yes, not even your helicopter stance can save you).
btw if you're fighting against the "boss" 1 vs 1 in campaign, try to spam the 10 hit combo, unlockable attacks on wake up and keeping your distance. (sometimes they do an unlockable attack while they're invincible for a short period of time). Against hordes of enemies, do the shark attack attack ^^

# SumSamurai : She was more difficult to beat than Nancy and I believe Jins train level combined... Plus, that one level to beat Kazuya, all ninjas and stuff comming at me at once.. Phew! But above all, Alisa is the most evil. X-(

Really, Alise wasn't that hard for me, I just kept shark attacking on her
I thought everyone would hate the death train (devil jin) Yoshimitsu's stage or Bruce his stage.

# SumSamurai : Oh, but Alisa is the only scary psychotic robot i know...
What the hell.... Alisa is ADORABLE Robot.. And especially cute one too... Err i didnt know that there was Yoshimitsu stage O.o awww come on... I played entire campaign for Yoshi's stage and i didnt get to see him...where did i miss. Pls tell.. Speaking of campaign mode what are all Yoshimitsu related dialogues you have observe... Lei says to be saved by the head of Manji clan is an honour or something like that. And hei say thief and etc ...what other dialogues...

do steve's stage on hard difficulty.
(you can only do hard difficulty if you've beaten campaign mode once)
defeat the 1st ninja that you will see in the corner.
press pause and exit the stage.
go to yoshi's stage.
kick his awesome ass.
you unlocked yoshimitsu

Wow first thing i am gonna do on sunday. Thanks angel boy.... Thanks a lot. XD

# xXAngelBoyXx : If you're having trouble with the outcome of your input, then try putting on that command input history in training mode to see what the problem is while inputting your commands. You can find out you might be holding down backwards or something else while you shouldn't do it.

I had forgotten about this, so tried it tonight for the first time. Erm, it says I'm pressing things wrong even when the moves DO work. Like, I'm not pressing things as quickly as I should, or I press something twice when it should only be once. I've just been trying to do it right but I simply can't, as though it isn't physically possible. Example, when I have to press the same button twice, there is always a gap in the command history, no matter how quickly I try to press it. The point is, these moves are working anyway, but, is there something wrong with me, or is this quite a normal thing? Lets choose and example... erm.. 1,1 the new kabuto thingy, that works for me, though there is a gap between button presses in the command history, yet, if I want to do two left punches, I press more slowly and.. two left punches!! The command history however, is IDENTICAL. What the heck is going on here? Is it time I joined the Lemmings Obsession Team, and gave up on Tekken?? Or does it not really matter, so long as Yoshi is doing as he is told? Will this be more of an issue later when I start learning more complex combos?

HELP!!!

-Very sad Jembru

OMG Jembru is really sad! How can i tell ? She did a normal post without funny quotes or smileys < this kinda makes me sad. Come on Jembru... Cheer up gal :D your ps3 pad must be broken. And the kabuto thingy command is similiar to 2 left punches...i didnt really get what was wrong with your joy stick... Sorry i have a bit of iq problem ^_^ so tell your prob again... By the way when my previous ps3 sad was broken... When ever i pressed ff twice or sometimes once... i used to get u/f command. So try your test again.. If possible get your friends controller and check if its pad prob or ...wrong input.

so are you experincing that when you press right punch yoshi is doing too instead of one? if thats so try testing out other moves as d/f+1 or d/b+1 and see if the same padden continues. do you have the same problems with all of yoshis limbs?

spamming the attacks shouldn't be a problem normally...

for example if you press 5 times 1 while two 1's are required, it should still come out.
Have you tried testing it with another pad, cause right now we can only make assumptions if we don't know if you've tried it with another pad...

It might be you, the TV that delays the inputs (lag TV's , one of the reasons why plasma tv's suck ass when playing fighting games) , or the more common problem, the game pad.

No.. if I want one left punch, I get one left punch. If I want two, I get two.. and if I want kabuki (slice), I get it. So the output is what I want and Yoshi is being a good little space ninja and doing as he is told!

The problem.. it's just when I record my input in practice mode. Then, I can see that although I always thought everything was working fine (and it is), what I am actually pressing isn't what, according to the game, I should be pressing.

Very hard to illustrate this here, because the controls are shown pictorially on the game. But imagine there is a little square in this O and its other 3 friends are there too ^^, then imagine that.. for kabuki the controls say to press OO (so they're right after one another). Then when I tell Yoshi to do kabuki, he is faithfully responds with kabuki. BUT the command capture is telling my I pressed O O with a space like that. Command list says OO command history says O O. To do two left punches, I would need to input those with a space between. So, I try this. I DELIBERATELY this time, press O O and Yoshi does two left punches.. press faster... kabuki... press more slowly, get two punches.

The capture always records it as O O no matter how quickly I pressed and regardless of whether Yoshi had done kabuki or two left punches..

The only reason this is worrying me, is that I'm nervous that the Yoshi behaves because the game is quite forgiving of sloppy commands, but will be less so when I try to input more complex things, when timing and precision will be more important.

Don't worry Vijay, I'm still cheerful. Really I am!! I tend to exaggerate a lot so when I say I am sad, most of the time I mean, 'mildly perplexed'.

I love how the diffeculty explaintion level sudden goes from high school too kindergarden ^^ but what you meant is that the command history don't give a idea of the input speed needed to prefrom the move :/

You think so? I thought it was just as complicated as the last explanation. Anyway, Angelboy just fixed it for me on msn. We've decided it's just the computer being weird.

lol if you think that was weird try ewgf... And see the input :p

# vijay_kumar_cute : lol if you think that was weird try ewgf... And see the input :p

Try what now?? :D At one point I was doing a 10 hit combo and although Yoshi did it beautifully (is there any other way he CAN do things?? :-X ) but even so, the command history, at one point, said I'd pressed buttons 21 times!! :)) I think this happens to everyone though, it's not just me.

BTW, what do you guys think, is Tekken harder on a small screen? Just, when I first played Tekken, it was on a fairly large TV... this one that's my ex setting up the PS3 for me, the day I bought it. Now though, well, I don't have a photo of my current TV but the screen is no larger than my laptop's screen (though my laptop IS widescreen). Pretty small. Is that gonna have any affect on how easy it is to play? If so, my game might just magically improve once I move to my new place because my roommate there has a MONSTER of a TV. It takes up half the wall ^^

Electric wind god fist. Its the launches move for devil jin. Notation is f neutral d,d/f,f+2. As you guessed Jembru it happens to every one. :@ sorry i didnt mention that. :p i certainly do like big screen. Big screen = big reflex. ^.^ so get the biggest screen possible and kick out that roommate of your with a flying/running kick. @_@ pressing buttons dont matter as long as you get desired input. Adios amigo.

Haha, no my roommate works a lot of night shifts (sleep-ins) and she's also a 'clubbing at weekends type' (I'm more of a 'pubbing through the week type'), so she said I can hook up the PS3 to her TV. I'm quite sure I'll get plenty of chances to play on it while she's on a late shift.

Also, I'm not quite as shit at this game as I thought. I've been watching those youtube guides and you know what?? I've been doing it wrong!! Rusty taught me how to play and I haven't been blocking when I thought I was (no WONDER I'm always being hit) and he even told me the wrong thing for side stepping... he told me to tap twice but the youtube dudes said once and once works!! I should have learned from the internet long ago really.

Also, the manual says there is a tutorial on the game, where is that? I'm assuming it's in campaign mode, but I haven't explored that yet.
