Tekken Movie

Tekken movie sucks effing bad. It gave me that same facepalm feeling like I was watching the dragonball movie and I'm still trying to erase that out of my memory.

anyways since this is a yoshimitsu forum, I'll only talk about him since I don't wanna spoil the whole movie and the fails of it for you.

The whole fight with Yoshimitsu beating the crap out of Jin is okay, I loved the scene. But then Yoshi suddenly throws his katana away (I was like wtf you doing yoshi-tard) and started to fight with Jin's javelin or something. Eventually they continue the fight in hand- to hand combat and Yoshi is still kicking his ass, but in the end Yoshi gets a little distracted, gets his punch guarded and gets a normal kick in the face.

Now comes the bulshit part.

Jin gives him 1 solid punch in the face (why that was a hit, I don't know.)and he's down for the count. The next scene they announce Yoshimitsu is dead...

Yoshimitsu gave Jin a total whoop-ass beat down and he still didn't win, He lost, no wait, DIED because of 1 punch in the face. WTF ?!!!

The only good thing about this movie is Yoshimitsu's costume and Bryan. They did a good job on Bryan and he still uses his signature moves like in Tekken, for the rest. This movie sucks.

oh yea, Bryan eventually dies too because of jin

Not to mention the end of the movie suggest that they might continue it... without Yoshi? It's some kind of joke.

Another LOL: Yoshi listens to Kazuya. TO KAZUYA?! Yoshi detests villains.

Unless in the possible next movie they make Yoshi as he should be (the individual who goes his own path, rules the Manji Clan with their own vision and mission), I'll always be against this movie.

Good mentions:
- the way Kazuya was played. Great actor! His emotions were clear and not false. When he got hit by the axe that cut his stomach, I could see the real pain and despair. A very good choice. It was a pleasure watching him. Gonna remember his name.
- Heihachi: also very good! Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa is one of my favourite actors anyways.
- Jin: a bit too childish, Jin normally is way more distanced and calm, but I suppose it was they way he should be in the movie.
- Steve: a good actor (also co-producer of the movie).
- Raven: the closest to his game character. Well-played.
- Yoshi: because somebody had the guts to try to play him. Props! It looked quite good! But the spirit of Yoshimitsu wasn't there at all. It's because of the director not studying Tekken story well.

And overally, I could see many signature moves in the movie, that counts!

The movie was horrible, very horrible. I prepared myself for total disappointment and I was not disappointed at being totally disappointed. Does that make sense? No? Neither does the movie. I fucking loathe that movie. Sorry for the foul language but that movie is shit. I have no other words to express my rage. If I had a sword in that theater I swear to God I'd be posting this from prison right now. Awful. Just awful.

Woah. I am so glad I avoided this one. I admit I was curious, in the way one might be curious to try recreational drugs, even though they know they are bad in the long run. Well, I'm glad I 'just said no' and I won't be putting myself through this movie (or the therapy I would need to get over seeing Yoshi raped like that... remember South Park??). Besides, I have (to quote my mum) 'the attention span of a gnat' when it comes to movies. Unless it really, really captivates me early on, I tend to wonder off halfway through, if not literally, then at least into the deep and murky chasms of my mind. Hopefully I'd have avoided the trauma.

I hope you guys get over this terrible, terrible experience. One day at a time, right? Oh, we could form a support group for survivors of the Tekken Movie... or or... Post Tekken Movie Shock Syndrome (PTMS syndrome for short of course ;)).

Lets make a deal. If any of us should become a multibillionair (or marry one ;) lol) we will make our own Tekken movie that doesn't totally suck!! It can still be low budget too. Some independent movies rock (okay, not Dragon.. that thing was eye torture) so long as there is passion and love behind it's creation. I would have the movie written and directed almost entirely by fans (with a few professionals for the finishing touches of course). Ah, roll on September when I won't have so much time to day dream such nonsense...

Hey, this broadcast was brought to you by a cup of tea and a crumpet. Tune in next time when I will take a close look at the letter n and we ask ourselves 'is that letter unlucky because all the luck drains out of it?'. Until then... have a nice day!

Don't tell me you had any good expectations of this movie!? :D

Seriously, folks. Tekken the movie? Any game the movie? That equals a disappointment. No exceptions.

I was thinking of going to watch it, though, just for a laugh. Perhaps with the old Team Rautanyrkki - so we could compare this movie to ours! :)

This makes me a saad panda :( Nice to see there were a few good points though! I'll still buy it for collection sake, but it's cool people are actually going to see it, maybe they'll make the next one better because of the backlash from this one.. Hopefully they do that with the next installment of The Last Airbender as well, that movie was sooo bad! I don't think they have even said when we get the Tekken movie here in the U.S.

I'm glad everyone hated it so much like I did...

That's a brilliant idea Jembru. I think people should make a movie about the manji clan instead of making tekken the main subject of a movie. Perhaps a story with Yoshimitsu and the story of the cursed sword and kunimitsu bein badass and making a twist in the story. And then Tekken gets briefly introduced so Yoshimitsu can get revenge on the death of his manji clan or something or trying to track down kunimitsu. Idk, but there r a lot of possibilities to make a good solid story with action included (perhaps a secret romantic scene w yoshi and kuni... idk).

Why, laddie, either you've watched my movie or your idea of a proper Tekken movie is quite close to mine. :)

... you made a movie?!

Too obvious, I know... :D That flick is over 5 years old, mind, done with non-existent budjet, no professional actors - just me and my friends - local scenes and crappy PC that had hardly the strength to run the video editing program. It's pretty much a parody of itself by default, but you can really see we had fun making it.

ugh download...

can't u upload it on youtube?

On Youtube?
It's the secret movie for Yoshi-obsessed ones, I suppose it will be on youtube only if Kogamitsu wants it.

Pros:
Namco will see how Yoshi is adored and they will make Yoshi stronger!
Cons:
It will lose the "For Yoshi obsessionists only" signature.

On YouTube? Never!

No, no, no.

First of all, it started as wor little project of having fun and playing in silly costumes. Secundo, we don't want it to be released to that wide a public. Lastly, since Tekken isn't our property, there's very little point in publishing it in YouTube, when it's most likely going to be taken down by copyright issues.

It's ManjiKai exclusive. End of discussion. :)

When the lead producer himself is disappointed in the movie, you know it sucks.

Oh that's sad. I feel bad for that guy. What I don't understand is, these people are putting money into making a movie that, presumably, they hope to make a high return from. So, why not ASK the fans... the target audience, what they would like/expect? Where was it made? Is it Japanese? If it is then I am surprised. Sure, the Japanese make a lot of crap movies, but there is almost always a lot of passion and imagination that goes into them (got myself a bit of a Japanese movie obsession going on right now :D).

Surely it is time for movies to be made with passion for the love of it, rather than just for the money. I mean, the movie sucks but I bet it's already made a profit. Of course, it could have made MORE money if it were good but that would have required more effort in the production phase. What? More effort for more money? In THIS day and age? That's an alien concept to these idiots.

Remake please... with Hideo Nakata directing...(omg imagine the gore?) and and... if Yoshi should take off his mask, please may it be Kenichi Matsuyama... Jembru would be a very happy girl. Though Yoshi should never take off his mask, so.. erm, can we just have Matsuyama in it anyway, pleeeeaaaaaaseee.
