Why do you like Tekken?

As topic says.So why? 'cause of jugles, or Yoshi:)? maybe u play 'cause your friend plays? :P and u wanna kick his ass. or maby it's a popular game? So what is tne REASON?

yuggles this is what I love :D :D :D and punch jungles (vide: EWGF,1~2,1~2 EWGF (TK3 - JIN)) I'v enough my jugles to create a one big movie (Tekken,Tekken3,Tekken4) but I don't have free space to keep it.:( by the way have you seen an "Ode to two hit combo"?? it is the best done game movie I'v ever seen. cheers!

I play tekken b-Cause i like fighting games, and the move list are easy, and my last reason is cause the charicters don't have any SPECIAL PROJECTILES ie: Fire balls ECT...... but that is just my reasons

I like Tekken mainly because of Yoshimitsu. There's nothing very spectacular in Tekken, it just happens to be a good game. And it keeps the fighting simple, in contrast of Soul Calibur, where occasional guarding is a necessity.

By the way, has anyone payed attention how Tekken grows darker game by game? In T3 there were talks of Toshin and such, Ogre's blood was involved amidst few other dark topics. In T4, there was the whole world in danger because of the Devil Gene, Yoshi and Bryan were already leering at each other with hatred. In T5, the prelude itself contained many casualties. Bryan and Yoshimitsu fight 'till death, Nina and Anna want - no doubt - see each other dead and many fighters seek revenge over the dead. When I tried out T3 after a very long time, the attmosphere of the game was much brighter and happier in a way, than that of T4 and T5's.

Yup, I have noticed it, too. See Yoshi's "undead" costume... it's EVIL. I don't like it.

But I suppose a dark game is now a neccessity... sad but true. Look what have they done to 'Prince of Persia". Grr.

Koga-san, Tekken keeps the fighting simple? Occasional guarding? Oh geeez! Tekken is a lot more sophisticated than Soul Calibur. (in my opinion. That's why i didn't play SC2 much.) Top SC players, as I tell them that "I'll play SC3 but unfortunately I'll suffer the lack of experience derived from SC2", all of them keep telling me that "most important factor in SC2 was all about guard impact game." :D Compare to tekken...

To win with Yoshi in tekken you have to be at least highly skilled.

As for 'Why I like tekken'... I like it ONLY because of Yoshimitsu. :)

Tenshimitsu :Koga-san, Tekken keeps the fighting simple? Occasional guarding? Oh geeez! Tekken is a lot more sophisticated than Soul Calibur.
More sophisticated, aye-aye. But Tekken is simplier than SC, at least I think so. To me, the simple "left punch, right punch"-rule is much better than the "horizontal attack, vertical attack"-rule, especially when I tend to forget which is which (like I said, poor English). Tekken is way more better than Soul Calibur, but there is a certain ancient honor in SC. I don't know, maybe it's the attmosphere and the quest for the sword, when Tekken is only a tournament in the end (only? Sorry, Tenshi!) The guarding is much easier in Tekken than in SC, especially when I never remember to press the X-button. Needless to say that I'm not good in SC. And when it comes to Tekken and Yoshimitsu, well, I haven't challenged many players, but those I have have lost to me. So I guess I can't be *that* bad, can I? Yet I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn... ^_^

tekken is a bad ass game but u can die really fast. it doesnt take a lot to win. a well placed combo to ur enemy and u win. but thats not bad, expecpt when u fight a newbie and they find a combo and do it non-stop. me i learn my combos and work out a strategy to eliminate my enemy.but its fun when u find and play another techn fighter. me and kev go at it on soul cal2. he isnt bad but with the right person(Mitsurugi) i could stomp him. but back on topic the combos are fairly easy to land and learn, the characters are amazing in appearance and in action. tekken is one of the best fighting games i have ever played, but theres no BLOOD!WHERES THE GORE,WHERES THE GORE?! but if tekken had blood it wouldnt look right. then u would have mortal kombat, which I LOVE:love.

yme : maybe u play 'cause your friend plays? :P and u wanna kick his ass.?

That's the answer.

Basically I play Tekken because I want to kick people's asses. Figuratively speaking. :)

Quite frankly... I really like fighting games and Tekken is the best I have played so far... Plus I really like its cast of characters.

I’ve always been a fan of Tekken mainly because the storyline is awesome!!! :D

Kogamitsu : More sophisticated, aye-aye. But Tekken is simplier than SC, at least I think so. Yup... Soul calibur's atmosphere is what I really like. Tekken is surely only a tourney, and the story wasn't always the best. (with a small exception of Yoshi's story :D) SC is quite entertaining, but I don't think that switching to "X" block is that difficult. :)

Again the discussion "Which game is better"... well, the games are different. Both require a skill but in quite different areas. Tekken is a very difficult game if you are going to fight against a top player. So is SC. But I think that a reward "time spent - higher skill" is better in TK. This is my main argument.

love most 3D fighting games, cause i'm also martial arts lover.
i don't know why but i'm totally crazy over tekken during the golden age of ttt.

Hello and welcome, Retsujin! Well I can say that I like golden Tekken 3 :)

I remember coming across Tekken 2 in the arcade while I was at the mall - I was attracted to fighter games and had also put a few quarters into the (gulp!) Virtua Fighter 2 game. I was a fan of Bruce Lee, so naturally I leaned towards Law - but I could never get past that mysterious fighter in the woods with the sword that kept on spinning out of my reach! Later, when I married my wife and finally got a PS2, we wanted to get a few games cheap, so we got a used copy of Tekken 3 that still cannot get through the intro movie all the way without freezing right around the time Ling does her jump... anyway, as I played with Law, I found myself drawn towards the more mysterious character I once met in the woods... I am usually drawn to the mysterious characters in fighter games (Vega, Glacius, etc.). Now, after getting used copies of Tekken 1, 2, and Tag, and buying new Tekken 4 and 5, I would have to say that I like to play Tekken because:

1) Wide range of characters (prefer Yoshi, of course)
2) Tangible storylines, for the most part
3) Not all about the T&A (never played DOA nor doubt that I ever will)
4) Don't have to press anything but <b> or <d/b> to block (have Virtua Fighter 4, but never play it)
5)Light-hearted sidegames, like Tekken Ball and Tekken Bowl

among other things.

That's great Yoshimitsu won your attention. :) Exactly, I also was drawn to him in Tekken 2 game. Great appearance, outstanding music (especially the arranged version) and unique fighting style... not to mention his devotion to helping others. Yoshimitsu became my favourite character, and what can I say... I devote all my time spent with Tekken to mastering only him. The rest of characters aren't that interesting for me...
