Tekken 6 Lag/Patch Impressions

A.K Fan1234 : Saikoro when you are praticing aginst the cpu, you start too develop bad habits like useing 10 hit stings to often and stuff like that. It fells like my skills versus humans are falling are lacking at time due too the defferent playing style while facing the Cpu :dontgetit

I personally like to go into practice mode and play against the AI on Very Hard or Ultra Hard. With that difficulty, its an impossibility to perform 10 hitters. In Yoshimitsu's case, you can get 1,2,1 to hit, but thats about it as it is an awesome poke. With my playstyle, I like to use hard A.I. to better timing and positioning tactics: You really learn to interrupt and counter your opposition with the way the A.I. attacks you. Play against Lars to learn how to disrupt his small pauses in between his rushes. Play against Baek Do San to keep your Low parries on par. Of course, a Human player wont usually play at that kind of skill (Well, except MadDogJin or MrNaps), but its a good way to keep your game on its toes.

I also play the game on Very Hard for Ghost Battles. Im currently 76 and 7 at 92%. Not too shabby.

And Player Matches are also going quite well as Im about 6 out of 10 on average there. Im known as "That Yoshimitsu Guy" within my friends list which certainly reminds me of my Tekken Tag Arcade days, and its great. And its amazingly gratifying to hear a Player Match audience swoon at Yoshi's oddball ass kicking skills during battle. Im lovin' it....

ass kicking using a character whose movelist doesn't consist of EWGF, EWGF, EWGF is very satisfying
haha

COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC

I was playing my copy of Tekken 6 on my Bosses PS3 at my Part Time Job earlier today!! I work Wednesdays (From 3 to 7pm) and Saturdays (From 11am to 6pm) at a Supplement Shop (Protein Powders, Vitamins, etc) as a part time job. I basically get paid to tend to customers and just chill. My boss said he doesnt care if I play/watch stuff on the PS3 as long as I tend to customers when they show up. Personally, I walked in on him playing Call of Duty: World at War and Wolfenstein a couple of times!!

So I thought.... I should get Tekken for the PS3 so I can keep myself occupied!! And MAN, does it controll so much better.... the PS3 pad is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR superior to the 360 pad, 2nd party or otherwise. And I also noticed that there isnt an LCD "Delay" that YoshiMattsu mentioned of.... the game felt a slight bit faster and more responsive.

So yeah, Im getting a PS3 come February so I can finally battle all of you fellow Yoshimitsu players!! BOOYAH!!

I'll keep all of you posted on that. Give me your usernames so that I can give you a shout out when Im ready. PM me on that!!

And Kalorful.... what does EWGF stand for again??

Great news Saikoro!! I should be pretty easy to find on PSN, although my connection will be laggy.

Saikoro : And I also noticed that there isnt an LCD "Delay" that YoshiMattsu mentioned of...

I'm a little confused about this, can you clarify?

It is known that there is a delay with larger television sets, particularly 38' sets or bigger, and it relates to refresh rates. Its like Rock Band: Your refresh is slower by literal nanoseconds and therefore the game feels less responsive/sluggish.

Yoshimattsu, from message 8357 on page 1 of this thread: And if it's offline input lag you are referring to, I have heard others complaining about this too.. I think it has much to do with your tv and such, but I haven't experienced any offline lags, except the Raven slowdown, which has already been acknowledged and will be patched a.s.a.p. says a Namco representative..

Heres a Wiki Link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Input_lag

In my case, the game looks phenominal plays awesomely on my 42' Samsung, yet I feel that there is that slight delay, meaning that my moves come out .1 seconds slower. On a regular set, or something smaller, this is not noticable.

So factor that and Lag in. Yeah, it sucks. It was very nice to play on a PS Controller with no other factors inhibiting my gameplay. I felt as if I was a kid in my living room again!! All that is left is to install it to the HDD so load times, while compared to the 360 version, arent atrociously slow!!

Oh so you have noticed offline lag?? Because I haven't experienced any, at least not on the tv I play on... Is the lag input on both PS3 and 360?

The lag happens due to following factors:

1. LCD TVs, with HD on, which have the view delay more than 5 miliseconds. usually you can change the HD settings in PS3 to a lower resolution HD (can't remember exact numbers) and it helps a little.

2. Your controller. If you play on a controller from PS2 and have a bad Converter, the lag will be very obvious. I'm now using a sanwa arcade stick on a pelican PS2 to PS3 Converter, and it serves me really fine: no lags at all.

Just got an xbox live account, pm me if you want to play against me in some player matches online and I'll give you my username.

Just sent a PM to you Yoshifan. Looking forward to seeing you online!!

Sincerely,
-Saikoro

the lag isn't that bad it seems...
It's still annoying to fight against players that keep spamming low, or keep turtling during lag, but i just f,d it and end it with the trusty old.

b+2,1 ,Kinchou stance , f+2

btw my winning rate is 90% ranked matches, (it keeps rising)

20 wins 2 loses

@ Saikoro

EWGF stands for Electric Wind God Fist, one of the most notorious moves in Tekken history.

Its safe on hit (knocks back with guard damage) and ridiculously fast (12 frames?) and goes into damaging juggles. The only draw back is that the move hits high but if its a mid launcher the game would become ridiculously broken

All Mishimas can use that move

But it does pay off if you're a real mishima master. I mean seriously WOW if you can use it 5 times in a row in a combo, that deserves my respect.

and A.K have that wonderful move too :D

My Xbox Live Gold Membership just expired...

: (

So the Patch landed come yesterday morning. Thanksgiving to be exact. And I have lots to be thankfull for with Namco's Patch.

Either some rabid fan threatened someone in Namco with a Gun, or maybe MarkMan (Basically the voice of the Tekken Community) was held hostage by that same crazy bastard.... the Patch is that good. So good in fact, my Percentage in both Ranked and Player Matches jumped by 4%. My Player Percentage was at 70% and now Im at 74.2%. My Ranked went from a lag ridden 54.1% to a nice and ever improving 58.2%. Not too bad.

Playing Ranked Matches are actually a pleasure now as you can see what type of connection your opponent has beforehand. If you dont like seeing those Red/Yellow Bars, simply cancel and search again until you see a suitable connection. And speaking of Bars, if youve got a 4 or 5 green bar connection, the game plays like offline mode.

I shit you not....
