New here!

You'll be my test subject, Ralenzo. :P
I have a little theory, based on my pervious experience, that street fighter players tend to overestimate their tekken skills. So we will see, hehe... :D

Is that so...?

So absolutely no pressure at all there Ralenzo!! :))

Gosh, I'd PAY to watch that battle. Honestly, you've no idea how much I would love to see it.

I have two friends, one of the best street fighter players in Poland... they're beaten by me almost to zero during sparrings. Well, but it's offline. Online everything can happen.

I don't like the fact that Ralenzo takes for granted that most Yoshi players here are weak. You have no idea what's going on here in the hidden YOT Startegists forums, which gathers some of the best Yoshimitsu players from around the world, maybe only except Asia. I would put you versus Noodlehead, Undead Nemesis, Inca or QDogg and watch what you've made of...

Ralenzo: "If ya wanna get yo ass whooped add me" - ohh please, have a bit of self-preservation instincts. What if you lose? It will look very bad. :)

You can see that I'm careful with judging you, since I haven't seen your fights and also because we'll fight online. But it doesn't mean that I'm any weak. Don't judge if you haven't seen how people play.

I hope this doesn't open a powder keg here, but I am am curious. Is Street Fighter easier to master than Tekken, or does it require different skills and so draw upon different strengths?

Oh and Angelboy.. sorry your intro thread turned into a debate forum. If you wish, we could grab our bags and coats and move to the Temporary Shout Box thread with this.

I think Ralenzo will answer you this question in-depth, Jem.

But Street Fighter in my opinion is less memory intensive, more skills-oriented in a meaning you have to be overally more accurate in move input in Street fighter than in Tekken.

On higher level, Street Fighter is very difficult to master as well.

Okay, I think we should end this offtopic and move somewhere else. :)

Well I've played tekken for like 10 years and street fighter...well it was one of my first game ever.
I love both games but I find Street fighter 4 without a doubt better than tekken 6, not saying sf franchise is better than the tekken franchise, but tekken 6 disapointed me in the end.

Nyway ya wanna know the difference, I'm not gonna say sf is better or tekken is better. Just gonna tell you the difference based on my experience.

Tekken is very apealing, it has a great character design and everyone can practically play it without too much practice, I'm not saying it's easy to master though.
Street fighter is nothing like that, it's not that apealing, the characters has simple designs, and well it's hard to play cuz it takes a lot of practice especially in the beginning.

Tekken is played by inputting different button combinations, and by doing so your character does different moves, combos etc. I mean u can mash different buttons and moves come out. that's what makes it apealing cuz you interact with your character, you don't know how you do it but you make him move and do "cool" sutff.
Street fighter is not played by different button combinations, and the fun (for newcomers) ends really fast. Every button does only one thing, and by mashing the same button nothing happens, the character will just repeat the same punch like an idiot. You can only execute different moves by making different motions with the joystick and end it with a button like square or triangle for example, but even then you'll see not much variety. That is what makes street fighter so less appealing than tekken, cuz lot's of people have in the beginning difficulties with that motion stuff.

And yeah I'll explain the rest after somebody has replied to this cuz it's there are too much differences to explain in one post

Added 8 minutes later:

"overestimating your tekkenskill" I'm not overestimating my tekken skill dude :p compared to street fighter I'm a noob in tekken. I lose way many times against scrubby players in tekken 6, that's why I wanna play with you and lots of other people cuz my friend list only consist of strong street fighter players and almost no tekken players.

Who said anything about winning by mashing XD and yeah sorry for my mistakes in my post, It was pretty late and I was pretty tired :p

And yeah bro you should definitely pick up street fighter. It's one of the best fighting games of this generation.
It'll take time but you'll be happy in the end

If Yoshi will be in Street Fighter X Tekken crossover, the series will probably gain my interest. But not sooner. :)

@vijay - I'll answer you through PM

Well he's probably in it, but I'm not that hyped about SF x Tekken, cuz I've seen the gameplay and well, it changed. It's nothing like street fighter 4 they fusioned the street fighter mechanics with the tekken mechanics, so you're now able to do tekken combos in street fighter -__-
It's still in development and I hope they change it a little cuz it seems really weird now eventhough lotsa people are already loving it

Hmm, I don't know the details... what exactly did they change in this game that is new for Street Fighter? I saw some teaser videos and they looked very SF-ish. :)

btw, I'm fine with how my thread's getting popular, I feel I share this thread with my bro, so no worries :p

Well yeah cuz it uses the same models like in street fighter. But you can't play the game like you played street fighter, the gamemechanic has changed. It's hard to explain it but it's kinda like, virtua fighter would change their gamemechanics and would play like tekken. You'd still have the same characters, same moves, but you the rules are different and you can air juggle, bound and get rage when you're hp is low.
Virtua fighter is also a 3D fighting game but it plays very differently from tekken, I don't know if you understand what I mean, but it's something like that

It's like gran turismo launching a new title but you're now able to use boost and crash other cars like in need for speed or burnout or somthing
