seriously, wtf?!

is it even possible to do sword flash with your back excposed to the enemy, if I try to do it, a light punch comes out

I didn't ignore you bro, I just don't have an answer for ya...

i see...

I have only played T6 three times at arcades because of the distance from my house...I didn't get much testing done...Sorry

I actually noticed something. If you look closely, and I mean closely, you will notice that Asuka is to the Right/Rear Right of Yoshimitsu. Perhaps this is why you dont get the desired result. Set up Practice Mode and attempt to reverse with Command Record on. See if that works!!

Oh should have answered you sooner. And yes you can do Soul Stealer during back turn. The input is BT~u+1+4. What it really is is any move that turns you back turn, then the moment you turn back turn, press u+1+4. It's not that hard but it's not that easy either. It's all about the timing. It's really fun, people go crazy whenever I land that in the arcades lol.

Here are some of the moves Yoshi can do in back turn in T5DR
*BT~u+1+4 (BT Soul Stealer)
*BT~D/B+1+4 (BT Bad Stomach stance)
*BT~d,d/b,b+1 (BT Moonsault Slayer)
*BT~u+1+2 (BT Manji Dragonfly)
BT~u/b+1+2 (BT Death Copter)
BT~u+2+3 (BT Sword Poke)
*BT~d/b+2+2+2+2 (BT Stone Fists)
BT~d+1 (BT Sword Slash)

note: moves denoted by * means it's confirmed in Tekken 6 (I've used them first hand). The rest are probably still there but I'm not exactly sure. Some moves like sword stab has a different notation now so I'm not sure the back turn input also changed.

They're not all that hard to do. Landing it on an opponent however is a different story. Gotta set it up real good. Out of all of them I think the BT Soul Stealer and Bad Stomach backflip on counter hit is the most useful. They have a higher chance of landing in realistic circumstances and they can be followed up. Back turn stone fists is pretty good as well, it looks weird so you might be able to trick someone into running into a reverse hop kick. The rest are pretty much useless in a match.

Hope that helps.

Grey strikes once again!! Not Ive got something to go home and practice.

Well said Grey!!! Is the timing different for BT to Moonsault slayer in T6??? I couldn't get it to work at the arcade..

thanks for the reply grey, i always wanted to do a soul stealer with my back exposed and follow with a combo

Practicing on my PSP, this turning Counter is made harder by the PSP's cramped layout. Its Timing is irregular as well. You had better know what youre doing timing wise if you'd want this move to work!! In my opinion, its harder than getting the turning suicide to work. I could count how many times that worked on one hand while involved in high end matches..... 4 times. Out of 1,000+ lifetime matches.

Good call Saikoro!! We should keep in perspective just how High risk these complex moves can be...They can look amazing and have their uses, but the difficulty and precise timing should not be overlooked, Use with care!!!

Absolutely. But thats exactly the kicker.... Watch a crowd go nuts when a risky move like that gets pulled off. Case in point: Otokonoko. Ive been analyzing the absolute shit out of these videos and his playstyle "Flows" smoothly. If youre a high caliber Yoshi player, you know exactly what im talking about.... Even though Ive seen a couple of videos to where he lost the match, he did it with so much style that I found myself shouting at the monitor as if I was playing!!

Some moves that get a crowd going (Speaking on the behalf of Dark Resurrection):

- Soul Possesion from a staggered string (Attack for three strings to bait, counter and drain away!!)

- Turning Suicide.... as the name implies, its really suicide to perform this as youre open for literally 90% of it. Talk about insane reverse frame priority!!

- Actually nailing Spirited away from the DragonFly stance.

- Teleporting from the Meditation Stance, behind as a counter, and actually stringing the full 3 hit Shark Attack Combo while their back is turned. This literally takes 80% of their health away. Nice....

Gotta love versatility....

Here are some videos of Help Me, he is a well known Korean Yoshi player vs. Rain (Bruce)

Big thanks to QDogg for posting these on TZ

That's just really weird. Help Me is more known as being the best Lee player out there. Now he's playing Yoshi... I just feel off, I love the fact that he's playing Yoshi but I can't help but compare it to his godlike Lee. I already like him as a player but I'd like him even more if he becomes super good with Yoshi as well.

Grey, you gotta somehow show us your Tekken Skills. With all of these great replies you've been giving us, Id love to see you in some type of action. Perhaps with Tekken 6's ability to save replays, you could post them up on YouTube??

That would be, you know, awesome. :D
