Who can't sing this song without passion? "I Fell into a burning ring of fire! I went down, down, down and the flames went higher!" Great metaphor.
Johnny Cash - Ring of fire

KEEL ROW! A traditional geordie folk song from around 1770! It's about the keel men making the Keel row! The Keel row is a boat. :) It's such a chirpy and happy song!
Kathleen Ferrier - Keel Row

I've quite completely fallen for Rammstein - and especially Till Lindemann - lately. Their 2004 album "Reise, Reise" is by far their best, but the new one, "Liebe ist für alle da" has a few absolute pearls of a song in it. Here is one of my favourites, "Ich tu dir weh".

!!!PARENTAL ADVISORY!!!
Hey, it's Rammstein we're talking about. If you can't handle it, DO NOT WATCH IT.

Rammstein: Ich tu dir weh

I'd like to get a light like Lindemann has... :P

EDIT:
The irony meter just blew through the roof. This happens to be my 666th post :D

I love Rammstein, but dude has always struck me as a fruity creep in the videos, so I've stuck to listening to it only, but the mouth light is really cool.

I'm listening to German music a lot too right now. It helps me to get used to grammar and phrases as they are really used, rather than the 'robotic' form they take in English German textbooks. It was harder with Japanese because of the way they break up words in songs (and delete or add 'structure' words whenever they feel like it). German songs contain recognisable words so I'm pleased about that. Erm, it's not Rammstein though :/ (though I admit that they have nice simple lyrics, I just don't think I'd get much use out of being able to tell people I'll hurt them.. or make many friends ^^). No no, I am listening to children's songs. I'll post my favourite in Gattsu's awesome music though, because next to Rammstein, my songs are gonna seem really out of place!!

I've taken up German as well, and I must admit, I have no difficulty in understanding Rammstein. I wouldn't call the lyrics simple, though. They've often got a lot more going on in them than it first appears. For instance, who is he actually hurting if he says he "can see your face in the mirror" ("Ich seh im Spiegel dein Gesicht")...?

That band will from now remind me Daniel (one of my new mates in school) he is a major Rammstein nutcase and can he can play like the most of thier stuff on guitar of others too, we jam there songs when we are at me and we even saw them live togetter in danmark and holy mother those flames are hot, you litterly feel the heat when they play Feuer Frei.

I can only reconnement seeing them live, before I was like .. They are okay but It sort a feels like there music is second priority due to the fact that many of there song are easy simple play but I was hugely impressed by there prefromence :D

Are you learning BECAUSE of Rammstein? :p Well, if you ever want someone to practice with, drop me a line. :D It's such an addictive language.

I was gonna say,'yeah, but when would I ever need to say that?' But then I thought... when would I ever need to say 'I'm as strong as a tiger' and realised that it's all good practice.

Advice: PLAY IT LOUDLY!!!

I don't care what this naughty girl says, with an attitude like hers she's under age!
Code Red - Kanikuly! *Koga is now smiling* :) Yes, in Finland it sounds like something quite funny.

Ugh.. they played Heut' ist mein Tag A LOT some years ago.
I'm not hating but it brings back memories where it was on a couple of my friends' mp3 and they always played the song on their way to school.

Here's a song (German so I can fit in) that got recently popular in the last week..

btw you can't imagine how hard I laughed each time the refrain popped up " Nein mann..."
He says it so dry, without feeling, as if he's a zombie xDD

Dunno about the song, but the neon colours make me happy!!!

(Sum, I know you like learning from songs so if you want the translation, give me a nudge and I'll do my best. It's very easy words so it shouldn't be a problem.)

Oh and.. what's with the German theme all of a sudden? Careful boys and girls.. don't make me bring out Fliegerlied again!! (My teacher made me do the actions to the whole class last week FUNNY!!!)

What is it with girls in music videos now? Geez.. They ALL had the clap! XD Nein mann, I'll incfect you later, i just wanna dance. XD

A sad song I have... It seems to be the fate of many woman in the 21st centry. (Particularly the attitude to life in my country) So many hopes and unaccomplished dreams.. (But at least lucy was married.. So maybe it's not so bad eh?)
