Soul Obssesion

Hi Im new on the forums and I have question. I dont know if I spelled it correctly , but what does SO should do? It just eats my HP and heals my opponent.Thank you for your answers.

I'm not sure in tekken, but how this move works in soul calibur is so:

If you use the version that heals you and takes their health and they press the joystick in a certain direction, it will heal them and take from you. If you use it in the form that heals them, and takes from you, and they press in that direction, it will heal you.

Was that too confuzzling?

i read, if the opponent tried to throw escape the SO, you regain health

Soul Obsession.... I believe you hold Back while in attack state. I always remembered how this move works by holding the Joystick/D-Pad in the direction that I want the health to go. Simple, no??

And while on this subject, my Soul Calibur IV days are over :con. Most in part to the fact that nobody plays it anymore (Also, people who DO play it are cheap bastards who utilize lame techniques that.... are.... hard.... to.... avoid). But mainly because I feel as if Yoshimitsu was completely nerfed in his poking game. My entire style of play is revolved around anticipation/interruption/counter (Both Tekken and Soul Calibur), so when Namco went and delayed and nullified just about all of his frames for his standard moves, my game plummeted into the ground. Compare his style of play from now to Soul Calibur 2, and you will see a huge contrast. Its heart breaking to go from tournament good to losing like an ass to a 12 year old who spams cheap Sophitia tactics. I always hated her. Kinda how I hate Julia.

Yup. Demoralizing. Even more the reason why Im gonna beat the living hell out of everyone on LIVE once Tekken 6 hits. Thats a threat and a promise!!

Its not to say that I did horribly though. My final SC4 record holds in at a decent (And Im putting that lightly) 68% win ratio. Not bad whilst facing asses, no??

OK. Enough rambling. I just had to get that off of my chest. Does anyone agree with Yoshimitsu being nerfed in Soul Calibur 4??

Well Yoshi did get weaker in SC4, but that game has many balance issues, it it too easy to be defeated by chumps with no skill. But balance has been the main issue in Soul Calibur for a while. Soul Calibur 2 was the last one with decent balance and no lame chump tricks (Hilde)..

yoshimitsu does lack many things that other characters have in SC4 (range, power, quick recovery after a missed attack)
but in SC4, it's the tricky gamestyle that let's u win with yoshimitsu. (people never see the dragonfly -> air harakiri coming!) muhaha

Tricky GameStyle, yes, but its a tricky broken one at that. Yes, he is versatile, but all of those moves you speak of either have wonky priority or slow frame startup. Add in Lag with Namco's servers and youve got a higher yield for a loss that spells disaster.

Bring back Soul Calibur 2 Online and then we will talk.

I love Soul Calibur 2!! It was and still is the best SC ever!! Speaking of SC did anyone see that they slid the release of Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny right under our faces.. I went to Gamecrazy yesterday and they had it for sale!?!?! I had it under good authority that it wasn't going to release until around the time T6 PSP's release date (Late November), but there it was....Oh well it will have to wait in line, it is far too close to Tekken release to concentrate on anything else!!!

my fave SC would be SC3, mainly because there r so many new style/characters.

i just loved the nunchaku, lance, ninja and all other styles xD

but the best gameplay as in how yoshimitsu was the best would be SC2 yea

Couldnt agree with you more Matt, Soul Calibur 2 is certainly the best. I would consider 4 "Fun" with Vader and Yoda along with all of your customization options.

And I do have Broken Destiny. Its very good, but its still Soul Calibur 4. Kratos is an excellent character addition that fits the timeline perfectly. However, those balance issues we speak of are still in and the game controlls horribly on the PSP's small layout. But man is it a looker.... very sharp graphics for a handheld, even a bit sharper that Dark Resurrection (And that is due to a slightly brighter Color Pallette). I personally give it an 8 out of 10. It would have been a 7 if I wasnt so much of a fan, and a 9 if the controlls werent so harsh on your thumbs.

In the end, Decent!!

Wow 8 out of 10!!! That's pretty good especially if the bugs and glitches are still present..I will be buying it sometime, but for now here's hoping T6 PSP looks great too!!!

Eh, I never found Yoshimitsu to be too effective in the older SC games.

Yoshi may have not been the best character in SC2, but the game in general is incredibly balanced and stands strongly against any fighter..

yoshimitsu is top tier along with amy, sophitia and cassandra BTW FYI

In SC2?? Really?? Wow you're right!! Sorry for the mis-information guys!! I really have never liked using Yoshi in SC, he's just not Tekken Yoshi...Xianghua was who i used in SC2. I don't think Amy was in SC2....
