Second pic makes him look like he has 2 swords to use...

2 swords? Wow. It would be cool ^_^

I'm wonder how many costumes Yoshi must have in his wardobe now xDD

hum, he changes so much each time they make him for a new game .. pretty soon he wont even be a manji ninja .. sad day

I'm ambivalent about this costume design...seems a bit...odd. I honestly don't know how they thought they could improve on his SC3 1P (except for my color edit to blue and gold), but even so...I'm not sure about this one...

Well, we can all hope his 2P outfit is awesome.

Peace,
Tora

hmmm.. I wonder if that ugly helmet can be customized, I'd definitely change that one. I think this design looks like a clash between costume 1 tk6 yo cosy 2 sc3 yo.

Hmm, two swords make me suppose that he'll also have the Kinchou stance... that would be a huge "LOL".

The story of Yoshi in SC should be different, anyway... and he shouldn't dual-wield swords like Tekken Yoshi.

And... I hate the overall gaming tendency to "darken" the character... it's always the case with many heroes. Like e.g. Prince of Persia. A nice, bright hero turning to be some kind of demon. I don't like it at all.

EDIT: more Yoshimitsu pics:

My guess is the second sword is going to be cosmetic only...Heihachi had CGs with two swords on his hip, and he never used them in SC. I think Namco would do well to differentiate the two Yoshis further by keeping SC Yoshi with the old style. It'd make chronological sense that way, too.

As to darkening the character, look at the transition from T2 to T3...bit of a dark turn, but a turn for the better. And his T5 2P costume is the epitome of awesomeness. I don't mind Yoshi looking bad, I just don't want him looking stupid (I still don't like the octopus-head SC3 costume).

Peace,
Tora

Tenshimitsu : And... I hate the overall gaming tendency to "darken" the character... it's always the case with many heroes. Like e.g. Prince of Persia. A nice, bright hero turning to be some kind of demon. I don't like it at all.
I see a strange continuum going on between Tekken and Soul Calibur Yoshimitsus. To a certain extent, both stories have a lot in common, ie. destruction of the clan, and somehow all this comes down to the same thing: the Sword.
I don't mind the dark theme they've got Yoshi into, I had hard time taking him seriously when all he seemed to do was fool around. What I don't want him to lose is his unique sense of humor and that childish smart-@$$ attitude.

Tenshi, the Sword Yoshimitsu carries is evil, despite all, right? And to keep the Sword "under control" it needs to be calmed with blood of namely Yoshimitsu's enemies, unless I'm very greatly mistaken. What I don't think is that Yoshimitsu would go around killing people to keep the Sword under control, which of course results in the Sword gradually robbing him of his sanity.

Theory: this is the reason of his gradual change to dark theme, but there is still enough left of his sanity/humanity/you-name-it for him to realize what's going on and do something about it. Now, I don't know the story of Soul Calibur IV, but I'd be surprised if it had nothing in common with the Tekken story of Yoshimitsu's.

In a nutshell, I think that Tekken and Soul Calibur are somehow presenting Yoshimitsu's life cycle in Dark Ages and in modern day; hundreds of years have passed and he's still struggling with the same issues.

*heaves* I think that was about everything. Second theory is that Namco considers dark-themed characters more media-sexy than cheery ones.

Hehe, I forgot the fact that the sword is gradually taking over poor Yoshi :) Yeah, you're right. Anyway, the SC4 story is already up and it's only the mater of translating it...

As far as I see, the story doesn't bring in anything new...

what saddens me the most is that all the thought koga put into the sequential darkining of yoshi through the games, being the lack of desire to feed the evil sword and in that sense sacrificing his own soul, thus limiting his sanity and so on and so forth ( which was a brilliant way to put his inner plight/ eventual downfall :cry ) but knowing Namco ( and the fact that as a series go's on things have to change if only to keep from being stagnant ) i highly doubt they thought any farther than, "hey what havent we done to him yet?"... " i know lets make him dead with a shell helmet!" ... " why would we do that?" ... "because they wouldn't see it coming " ... " well you may have a point there " ...or something like that ... overall ... go media-sexy lmao

ps. if i may say so .. i think yoshimitsu's story is a tragety ...
almost ancient roman in style.. a great warrior, a cursed sword, the choice between a sane killer or corrupted saint, how much maddness can he stand, will he give into the sword, if he did could anyone stop him, and in the end would it matter, he is either a crased killer - in which the blood spilt in the name of the sword would cause him to go mad in time, or he loses his mind and soul by giving into the sword - thus becoming like nightmare... a faceless killer .. the angel of death... a thoughless murderer.. as long as he keeps the sword i don't see a safe rout for him ... either way its dark days for the manji leader

He looks odd, I don't really like this one, but then again, i didn't really like his sc3 1st costume either. i usually like the 2nd costumes the best.

Well you can add his SC4 costume to his T4 costume that makes it 2 bug costume for him so far :) and i don't mind YOSHIMITSU turning into a demon:D

Whatdya mean turning into a demon?

I like the looks of his tekken 6 costume!!!!!!

Low Life : Whatdya mean turning into a demon?

I like the looks of his tekken 6 costume!!!!!!
I mean that if he has a dark side it well make his story better because he is going to fight for justice and in the same time he well have to fight with him self so it's a nice story for him i think....... did ya got me dude:)

True True.i wonder what his second costume is be like. they says that they remain similar throughout the series. maybe his head be crab this time:wink
