CHAPTER XI

Mishima Headquarters

It was time for the mission. Yoshimitsu, Kunimitsu and other Manjis prepared for a very hard task. They never entered the Mishima Headquarters, so the situation was even more dangerous. They don’t know what to expect there...

Anyways, they were ready, and they headed to the headquarters. Masaki was leading them, because he knew the path. Yoshimitsu and Dawan were walking with him, while other Manjis were behind them. Kunimitsu was at the end.

After some while, they were in the deepest part of the forest. It was also the most beautiful part of the forest. There were flowers and trees everywhere, and sunshine made the place lighter than other areas of the forest. All Manjis enjoyed in the view.

But suddenly, the place in front of them...exploded!

- Take cover! – Yelled Yoshimitsu.

Smoke appeared on the place which exploded. When the smoke disappeared, a purple person walked out of it.

"Devil!" thought Yoshimitsu immediately. "Damn, not now!"

- What...this is...Devil! – Yelled Dawan.

- Yes, Dawan. The only way to survive is...ATTACK! – Answered Yoshimitsu.

- Devil is unbeatable...we will all die!!! – Yelled Kunimitsu with almost insane voice. She was really afraid of him. He was her worst nightmare.

Devil wasn’t speaking anything. He knew what Manjis will do first. They will wait for him to attack, and then try to counter.

Yoshimitsu knew that too. But he tried to surprise Devil and attack first.

NOW!

Yoshimitsu jumped to Devil and waved his sword, pointing to Devil’s head. Devil just moved his head a bit and avoided Yoshimitsu’s sword. Now Masaki attacked. He used his trusty Samurai sword, trying to stab Devil in the chest. But Devil was faster again. He disappeared and appeared behind Masaki, who completely missed him. Masaki couldn’t stop himself, so he fell on ground. Now all other Manjis attacked Devil, hoping at least one of them will hit him...

Katanas and swords were waving from all sides, as Manjis were getting close to him. But Devil’s skills were too greater than Manjis’ skills.

He started avoiding all attacks, crouching, jumping, dodging, countering...Yoshimitsu was shocked. He never saw such a good fighter in his entire life. Devil was avoiding brutal sword attacks from all Manjis, and countered with same brutal power. One Manji jumped above him, hoping he will get a chance to stab famous Devil in the head...

But he was wrong. Devil sensed danger and quickly rolled to side, avoiding ninja’s attack. After that, he kicked Manji ninja so hard that he flew three meters away. His bones were crushed. He couldn’t stand up anymore. But Devil didn’t care about him anymore, because more Manjis attacked him. He started avoiding attacks faster than before, using teleportation. He started disappearing and appearing on all places, making Manjis confused...

Devil appeared in front of Yoshimitsu, and tried to punch him in the head, but Yoshimitsu was faster this time. He grabbed Devil’s hand and threw him in the air. Now Yoshimitsu jumped in air, and waved his sword, pointing it to Devil’s chest...

NO! Devil disappeared and appeared below falling Yoshimitsu! Yoshimitsu was trapped. If Devil hits him now, he is dead!

Yoshimitsu tried to disappear, but he couldn’t, because Devil did something to disable Yoshimitsu’s ability of teleportation...

But, Kunimitsu ran to Devil’s back! He managed to kick him in the back and knock him down. Yoshimitsu landed in defensive stance right away.

Devil sanded up and smiled in his insane way. Yoshimitsu, Masaki, Kunimitsu and Dawan attacked at the same moment. Yoshimitsu attacked Devil’s chest with his sword, Kunimitsu pointed her daggers to Devil’s head, Masaki was behind him and he tried to kick Devil in the back, while Dawan jumped above him, trying to kick him in the head! Devil showed no anxiety. He didn’t want to teleport. He wanted to show them that he can avoid those attacks without any tricks.

Kunimitsu’s attack was fastest, so Devil needed to avoid it first. He dodged her daggers by simply crouching. When Kunimitsu realized she missed, she lost balance and fell on ground. When Yoshimitsu’s sword was too close to Devil’s chest, he jumped in air, so the sword missed him too. Masaki also missed, kicking Yoshimitsu instead of Devil. Now Devil and Dawan were in air. Dawan thought he can punch Devil, but Devil’s powerful kick knocked him down.

After that, Devil landed and looked at Manjis, smiling. He liked the fact that almost everybody is afraid of him. Other Manjis were truly shocked, but they attacked again. They were ninjas, and they weren’t afraid of death. They were only afraid of Devil...because he can absorb their souls and make them evil as him... that would be a living hell. Manjis attacked, knowing they will fail...

- WAIT! – Yelled Yoshimitsu. – Do not attack him. I will fight against him!

- But...he is too dangerous! – Said one Manji.

- I said, DO NOT ATTACK! That’s my decision, and you must respect it!

Manjis listened to Yoshimitsu. In that moment, they thought he is crazy, but, he was their leader and they needed to respect his every decision.

Devil attacked first. His eyes flashed for a short time, and then he unleashed a laser beam to Yoshimitsu!

Yoshimitsu was faster. He jumped to side, landing on his knees. He tried to teleport behind Devil, knowing he may fail...smoke surrounded his body while he was rotating...

Yes!

He managed to teleport this time! After that, he tried to stab Devil’s back, but Devil was too fast for him. He even managed to turn around and grab Yoshimitsu’s head before he could do anything! Yoshimitsu was surprised...why Devil grabbed his head?

He found out answer quickly, because he felt terrible pain in his head! Devil was taking his energy! If he takes all of Yoshimitsu’s energy, Yoshimitsu is dead!

But Kunimitsu managed to surprise Devil this time.

Devil was too occupied by taking Yoshimitsu’s energy so he didn’t notice that Kunimitsu came too close to him...

It was too late when he realized what is happening. Kunimitsu stabbed both daggers in Devil’s back! He started bleeding. He left Yoshimitsu’s head, and kicked Kunimitsu with maximum power. She flew some meters away and fell on ground. Devil grabbed daggers from his back and threw them away. He always hated Kunimitsu, but this time he was too furious. He needed to kill her. Kunimitsu was still laying on ground, while Devil was coming close to her...

Manji ninjas standed in front of Devil, wanting to defend their member. Devil just smiled, while his eyes started to shine. Manji ninjas knew what that means. Devil will fire his laser beam and kill all of them...

NO!

Yoshimitsu managed to stand up, and attack Devil! He stabbed him with his sword in the back! Devil now sensed terrible pain. Kunimitsu’s daggers didn’t hurt him at all, but that sword...that was something special...and it was stabbed in his back...

Devil started yelling insanely. His body started to burn. Yoshimitsu dashed back, getting away from fire and letting his sword stay in Devil’s back. Strange fire surrounded Devil and he was insanely screaming until his whole body was burnt down. Fire disappeared and only Yoshimitsu’s sword was on ground.

Devil was gone.

- You...you killed him! – Said Dawan.

- I don’t know... – Said Yoshimitsu. – I hope he is dead. Are you hurt?

- No...But there are seven dead Manjis. Devil killed them.

- Damn...he is a real nightmare... But, we must continue the mission. Is Kunimitsu OK?

- I am alright. - Said Kunimitsu. – We can continue.

Yoshimitsu and other Manjis made graves for dead Manjis, and let them rest in peace, like they deserve. After that, they continued.

After two hours of walking, they came close to the Mishima Headquarters.

- Here we are... – Whispered Masaki. – Yoshimitsu, you go first. Kunimitsu, me and Dawan will be behind you, and others will follow us.

- Right. Let’s go. – Said Yoshimitsu. – Come on, Kunimitsu. I hope this mission will end in success...

Yoshimitsu hide behind huge tree near to the entrance of Headquarters. He looked to the door, and spotted...8 guards!

“Damn, this is called protection alright!” he thought and prepared for attack...

- Yoshimitsu! Wait! – Almost yelled Masaki.

- What? – Answered Yoshimitsu.

- You can’t kill them! There are cameras all around that door, so if someone sees corpses, this mission will fail!

- Hmm...Yes, you are right. We must find another entrance.

Yoshimitsu climbed up on the top of the tree, and looked at the headquarters. Yes...on the top was a hole leading to ventilation system...those tubes were narrow, but, it was possible to slip in somehow...

Yoshimitsu climbed down, and came to other Manjis.

- The plan has changed. Kunimitsu and Masaki, go with me. I assume you can slip trough the ventilation tube on the top of the headquarter. Other Manjis will have to go back to or hideout. – Said Yoshimitsu.

- No way! – Said Dawan. That’s too dangerous for you. We must find better way. Yoshimitsu, what are you doing is a suicide!

- There is no other way. And Manjis are tired of Devil’s attack so they won’t be effective as they need to. This is only way, believe me.

- OK...if you say so... – Said Dawan. - Manjis! We need to stay here and protect them if something goes wrong. Yoshimitsu, Kunimitsu and Masaki will go.

Manjis firstly didn’t agree with Yoshimitsu’s decision, but later, they decided to agree and stay hidden in the forest, waiting for them to return.

Yoshimitsu now took one ninja tool. It was a long wire which was very thin, but it was strong enough to carry Yoshimitsu’s body. On one side of the wire was three-sided metal claw. Yoshimitsu climbed to the tree again, and waved the wire. After getting enough speed, he threw one side of wire to the headquarter roof.

Claw hit wall and stayed there! Yoshimitsu checked strength of the wire. It was strong enough to carry him. He banded other side to the tree. After that, he climbed down to Manjis, again.

- We will use this wire to transfer to building roof. - He said.

- But... is that wire safe? - Asked Kunimitsu.

- Don’t worry. It’s OK. Here’s the plan. One side of the wire is stabbed into building roof. Other side is on the tree.

- But...there is only one problem. - Said Masaki.

- What?

- Soldiers can see us while we are transferring to the roof!

- Well... we must take some risks. But I think they won’t see us because sun is right above us, so they won’t look that side. Anyways, we need to get to roof as quick as possible.

- Now I get why I can’t go with you! - Dawan said, smiling.

- Sorry. - Yoshimitsu said. - But you’re too fat and wire maybe will not be able to carry you... - He smiled.

- I need to get a diet if I want action. - Dawan smiled.

- OK, we need to go now. I’ll go first.

Yoshimitsu and Masaki climbed on the top of the tree. Yoshimitsu grabbed the wire, and started to proceed to building roof. Kunimitsu and Masaki followed him.

After some minutes, they were on roof. Fortunately, no guard saw them. They spotted ventilation tube. Yoshimitsu took his sword and broke the metal plate what was covering entrance to ventilation. The entrance was very narrow, but Yoshimitsu managed to slip in. Kunimitsu and Masaki followed him.

They crawled trough the ventilation. Nobody saw them, because nobody expected someone to break in Mishima Headquarters, especially by ventilation system.

Yoshimitsu could hear Heihachi’s voice from one room what looked like torture room.

- Torture him for 2 hours! If he doesn’t say anything, kill him!

Yoshimitsu couldn’t see Heihachi from that angle, but he was very furious.

“Heihachi, you’ll pay for this, I swear.” Yoshimitsu thought and continued crawling trough the ventilation.

After long crawling, Yoshimitsu saw the exit from ventilation. But, under the exit were two security guards.

- Wait. - He whispered to Kunimitsu and Masaki, and then crawled to exit. He took two shurikens, and looked to the guards. They didn’t even spot him!

- Hello. - Said Yoshimitsu, smiling.

Guards were shocked for a short moment, and Yoshimitsu used that moment. He shot two shurikens before guards could aim their guns at him. First shuriken stabbed into one guard’s head, and other shuriken went trough other guard’s eye and got out on the other side of head, carrying bloody mass of meat and brain.

Yoshimitsu jumped down, to ground, and took shurikens from dead guards. He cleaned the shurikens using guards’ clothes.

- They’re dead. Let’s go! - He said.

When Kunimitsu and Masaki came down, they were shocked when they saw two corpses.

- Y...you did this? - Kunimitsu asked.

- Yes. Sorry for this way of killing, but that death was fastest for them. They didn’t suffer, they just died instantly.

- What? You must make them suffer! They deserved that! - Said Kunimitsu.

- No, Kunimitsu. All of them are humans, and we can’t treat them like animals. If I must kill my enemy, I want to do it most quickly I can.

After hiding corpses in ventilation tubes, they started walking towards the hall. They saw four more guards and one security camera. Yoshimitsu shot one shuriken and destroyed the camera. But that alerted the guards and they turned around.

Anyways, they couldn’t stop furious Yoshimitsu, who was already waving with his katana. After five seconds, all guards were dead.

- Damn, can you just throw a smoke bomb and make them sleep or something? - Asked Kunimitsu.

- No. If I did that, they would awake later, and alert whole base. Now help me to hide these corpses.

They continued walking and came to big room full of crates and guards patrolling. Masaki and Dawan hide behind one big crate, while Yoshimitsu was behind other crate. Masaki spotted one guard who was too close to him, so he quickly grabbed his Samurai sword and stabbed it into guard’s chest. Guard just fell on ground. Other guard heard something was happening, so he decided to check out the place where his buddy was killed. That was a big mistake... because he felt Kunimitsu’s daggers stabbing trough his chest, killing him instantly.

- We are a good team. - Whispered Masaki to Kunimitsu.

- Indeed. - Kunimitsu said and jumped to next guard. Guard sensed something cold and sharp on his neck one second before he died. Kunimitsu sliced his neck with one simple move. When she looked at the place where Yoshimitsu was hiding, she didn’t see anyone!

Yoshimitsu was in action for long time. He was fighting with three guards, who were too shocked and confused to shoot him, or at least alert the base. Yoshimitsu waved his sword and stabbed it into first guard’s head. After that, he blocked second guard’s stupid attempt of kick and countered with his sword, stabbing it into guard’s stomach. Third guard aimed his gun at Yoshimitsu, and second before he wanted to shoot, Yoshimitsu kicked him in the head, knocking him down.

Yoshimitsu took his sword and waved it into guard’s face...

After killing the last guard, Yoshimitsu came to Kunimitsu and Masaki.

- They are all finished. Let’s go. Something tells me that the real danger is right there...

Yoshimitsu started walking to the big door, but a shuriken flew few centimeters from his face!

He quickly turned around and grabbed his sword, ready for attack. But he only saw Kunimitsu and Masaki.

- Who did that? - He asked.

- I did. - Said Kunimitsu. I destroyed the security camera there. Do you see?

Yoshimitsu turned around and saw broken camera.

- OK...but be more careful with shurikens. You could kill me.

They entered the huge room. They couldn’t see any guard there, but Yoshimitsu suspected someone is there, but hidden. He used his Tangian - The Third Eye and browsed the room.

True...three guards were behind one huge crate, and four were above them, on a terrace, playing cards.

His Third Eye got back to him.

- There are seven guards in this room. - He said. - I’ll eliminate four that are above us, and you dispose three guards behind that crate.

While Kunimitsu and Masaki were getting close to huge crate, Yoshimitsu jumped to terrace with incredible speed. The first guard who spotted him couldn’t do anything because he died instantly. Shuriken stabbed into his face. After that, Yoshimitsu waved his katana twice and killed other two guards, who still didn’t have time to react fast enough. Last guard had the time to aim his gun at Yoshimitsu, but that was the last thing he did. He felt something stabbed him in the chest. Second later, he died without alerting anybody.

Kunimitsu and Masaki were in action. Kunimitsu used poison needles and hit one guard in his neck. Other two guards wondered what happened to their friend, but after some moments they could see two persons coming to them extremely fast... Kunimitsu stabbed her daggers in first guard, while Masaki sliced other guard’s head.

- Nice work. - Said Yoshimitsu, who was watching whole match. - Really impressive.

- Impressive? - Masaki said. - What you do is impressive! You killed four guards alone, and I and Kunimitsu together killed three guards!

- OK, OK... - Yoshimitsu smiled. - Now let’s continue.

They continued walking trough the hall. Suddenly, Yoshimitsu stopped. The hall was strange... because no guard was there. And strange small machines were on sides of the hall...

- Come on! What are you waiting for? - Said Kunimitsu and started walking trough the hall...

- No! Wait, Kunimitsu! - Yoshimitsu yelled.

But it was too late. Kunimitsu has already activated security system by walking that way.

"Lasers!" Yoshimitsu thought. «Invisible lasers! Kunimitsu alerted the whole base... now we are in real problems!"

A noisy alarm is heard. After 10 seconds, guards started coming into the hall. All of them had machine guns.

If Yoshimitsu doesn’t do anything, all of them are dead...

But Yoshimitsu was much faster than the guards. He started waving his sword, slicing guards’ necks, limbs, heads, bodies... he didn’t have any mercy.

Kunimitsu and Masaki were shocked, but they started attacking too. Kunimitsu attacked with shurikens, killing guards precisely, while Masaki was waving his katana and stabbing guards.

After one minute, all of guards were dead. But alarm was still ringing, and more guards came. These guards were better than previous ones because they had the time to shoot from their weapons. But they couldn’t shoot three Manjis, because Yoshimitsu, Masaki and Kunimitsu had excellent reflexes.

Yoshimitsu jumped above guards, waving his sword, Kunimitsu slided, getting ready to shoot the shurikens, and Masaki used Manji trick to disappear and appear behind guards.

Kunimitsu shot 4 shurikens and precisely killed four guards. Yoshimitsu waved his sword and sliced three guards’ necks, killing them quickly. Masaki used his Samurai sword to stab three guards in their backs.

These guards were dead too. But Manjis couldn’t wait for more guards to come, so they started running to the exit. Yoshimitsu was leading them.

But, in their rush they didn’t spot another laser system... Suddenly, lasers appeared from nowhere and surrounded Yoshimitsu!

He was in a kind of laser-cage. He couldn’t get out of it, but the guards were getting close to them.

- NOOO! Yoshimitsu! - Yelled Masaki and Kunimitsu. - You must get out of there!

Kunimitsu and Masaki attacked the guards and eliminated all of them.

But Yoshimitsu needed to get out of the laser-cage before more guards come and kill him. He was shocked and lost his calm spirit, so he couldn’t teleport, or use any other trick. He needed to rush trough the lasers...

Now!

Yoshimitsu rushed trough the lasers, but nothing happened to him. He wasn’t damaged. He wondered why nothing happened, but he realized the answer quickly.

Those lasers activated real lasers! Yoshimitsu tried to dodge attacking laser, but laser was faster than him...

SLASH!

Laser hit Yoshimitsu and that caused incredible pain, making Yoshimitsu unconscious immediately. He could only hear Kunimitsu and Masaki yelling one moment before everything went dark...

When he woke up, he saw an old man’s face looking at him.

- He’s awake! - Old man said after seeing Yoshimitsu’s eyes open.

Yoshimitsu realized that he is laying on a bed, in some kind of laboratory. One moment later, he saw Kunimitsu and Masaki.

- Wh... What happened? - He asked.

- I am sorry to say this, but that laser sliced your hand, Yoshimitsu. Only a miracle saved you from death. - Said old man.

- My... hand?

Yoshimitsu looked at his left hand and realized that he doesn’t have it anymore. He was truly shocked. But he needed to stay calm.

- Ho... How did we escape from the guards?

- This doctor, Dr. Yuri Bosconovitch called us to this lab. Guards are still searching for us, but they never enter Dr. Bosconovitch’s laboratory. - Masaki said.

- Dr. Bosconovitch? - Yoshimitsu wondered. - I know about you... you created Jack!

- Yes, Yoshimitsu... but Kazuya’s men kidnapped me and I am forced to live in this laboratory and work Mishima Zaibatsu.

- I can save you... - Yoshimitsu said.

- Really? But, how is that possible?

- I don’t know how... but believe me, I will save you. You saved my life, and I am very grateful about it. Believe me, I will manage to save you.

- I hope that is true... But I believe you, Yoshimitsu. Something tells me you will succeed. You know what? I think I could make you a new hand!

- What? - Yoshimitsu was surprised.

- Yes... I think I could get you a mechanic arm. It isn’t good as real hand... but that is better than nothing, right?

- Thanks, Bosconovitch. Thank you very much.

- Doctor... is that safe? We wouldn’t like Yoshimitsu to die! - Said Masaki.

- Don’t worry, my friends. He is safe in my hands.

After saying that, Doctor stabbed a needle to Yoshimitsu’s arm, which caused Yoshimitsu fall asleep.

Now he was in hands of that old man... but he believed him. He knew doctor will succeed.

After three hours, he woke up again.

- Welcome back, Yoshimitsu! - Doctor smiled. - You have a new hand!

Yoshimitsu looked at his left hand and saw a new, mechanical hand. He tried to move it, and he saw that his new hand is doing whatever he wants. He could even spin it in 360 degrees! Yoshimitsu was so happy. He was so grateful to that doctor.

- Thanks a lot, Dr. Bosconovitch. You saved my life, and now I have a new hand.

- It’s nothing! I do those things all day. - Doctor smiled again.

- I will save you... soon! Soon, you will be free! - Said Yoshimitsu, with happy voice. - But now, we must get back to Manjis. Unfortunately, the mission has failed, but at least we survived. Thanks, Dr. Bosconovitch, and expect me back soon. You will be free.

- I hope so too... go here. This is your exit.

Doctor Bosconovitch showed the secret exit to Yoshimitsu, Kunimitsu and Masaki. They thanked him for everything, and got back to Manji hideout.

When they came back, all Manjis were shocked of failed mission, and Yoshimitsu’s sliced hand.

- What happened? - Asked one Manji.

- We were spotted. - Answered Yoshimitsu. Lasers cut my hand off, and we also needed to escape. The mission failed.

- I am sorry... - Said Kunimitsu. - It’s my entire fault...

- Don’t blame yourself. - Said Yoshimitsu. - It is over now, and it’s good we remained alive. That doctor saved out lives, and I must do what I promised. I must save him from Mishima Zaibatsu. And I will... as soon I get chance.
